Dear Minister Walsh,

I would first like to thank you for initiating communications with our government and for your introduction. Of course we agree to the establishment of embassies; the establishment of a Tanzanian embassy in Harare, and of a Rhodesian embassy in Dodoma.
After reviewing your reques with the necessary parties, we have agreed to offer Air Rhodesia the flight route to our capital Dodoma. We would also like to offer a flight route to the city of Dar es Salaam, given this is the largest city and de facto capital of Tanzania. In return for this, we would request the opening of flights routes ,from Dodoma and Dar es Salaam to Harare and Bulawayo, operated by Air Tanzania. We hope you can agree.

Sincerely,

Augustine Mahiga
Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation
United Republic of Tanzania

Rhodesia is quite ecstatic to here of your willingness to exchange embassies and open a flight route from Dodoma and Dar es Saalam to Salisbury and Bulawayo. The future of our two nations appears to a bright and prosperous one. We therefore agree to permit the establishment of a Tanzanian flight route to Rhodesia.

Dear Minister Walsh,

I am glad that we have come to such a beneficial agreement so shortly.

To expand on this relationship, we are also interested in Rhodesian military equipment. May we request the abilty to purchase the Crocodile Armoured Personnel Carrier and the Mine Protected Combat Vehicle, and if so, with a price.

Sincerely,

Augustine Mahiga
Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation
United Republic of Tanzania

Rhodesia is thrilled to have a friend in Tanzania and is therefore appreciative of the lengths to which the current government has gone to make such relations possible. However, I should point out that most of the previously mentioned hardware has since been retired from service and is with rare exception manufactured. I will consult the minister of defense on the matter and see if he can allot a small shipment for the armed forces of Tanzania. If the minister of defense declines to ship the hardware I will gladly direct you to purchase hardware from our good friends in Taiwan.

Sincerely,
Frederick Walsh

Dear Minister Walsh,

We were not aware that the said equipment was retired from service and no longer manufactured. Given this new piece of information, we would like to make a new proposal; we would like to purchase the rights to produce this equipment (Mine Protected Combat Vehicle, Crocodile Armoured Personnel Carrier) on a permanent basis, to manufacture and export at our will. Of course we would pay a generous fee for such purchase.

Sincerely,

Augustine Mahiga

I am willing to accept your purposal and will see to it that the blueprints for said vehicles is handed over to trustworthy officials provided Tanzania pay a modest fee and extend onto Rhodesia a reasonable discount should the need to purchase said vehicles for our military arise.

Sincerely,
Frederick Walsh

Dear Minister Walsh,

We are overjoyed to hear of your willingness to sell the blueprints, and of course once acquired we will provide Rhodesia with a significant discount. With being the seller, what fee were you looking for in this sale?, I'm sure we can negotiate one that please both parties.

Sincerely,

Augustine Mahiga

The Rhodesian government is to give the blueprints to Tanzania for free as a gift of friendship. As for the vehicle prices I am not particularily sure?

Dear Minister Walsh,

We are very thankful that you give these blueprint as a gift, we sure weren't expecting it.

We also heard of the violence on the Rhodesian-Mozambique border, although details are unclear. As we also share a border with Mozambique, we feel concerned about these events. May we request the details of this border conflict, especially as this has the potential to worsen?

Sincerely,

Augustine Mahiga

Dear Minister Mahiga,

You are most welcome. In regards to clashes along our border with Mozambique we have witnessed on several occassions the breaching of our border fence, the murder of innocent civilians, and the destruction of private property. Now we have reason to believe that these terrorists are in the pay of Vietnam and China having been trained to make life for our people a living hell. Our security forces are currently cordinating measures against the communist terrorists. We request that Tanzania deploy troops near the border to put pressure on Mozambique.

Sincerely,
Frederick Walsh
