TO: Jackson Fitzgerald, United States Secretary of State Odinson
FROM: Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey
SUBJECT: Relationship and the Middle East Conflict

Mr. Secretary,

The Middle Eastern Conflict and the associated acts by the previous government of my nation were against the general interests of not just the people of our nation, but also the world. While we have worked to reconcile things at home, we must continue to do so with nations that were opposite to us in this war. To that end, I would like to schedule a time to speak with you regarding normalizing our relations, the path forward from this conflict for our nations, and other topics.

Regards,
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey

OFFICE OF
THE DEPUTY SECRETARY OF STATE

ENCRYPTED MESSAGE
[TR][TD]

TO: Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey ( Colton )
FROM: Charlie Price, Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America

Minister Çavuşoğlu,

It is a pleasure to hear from you. Secretary Fitzgerald is currently engaged in a meeting abroad right now, but I would be happy to respond to your message. I know that the White House is willing to reappoint Aiden Hawkins as the American Ambassador to Turkey, if your government would be willing to have him. He is available to leave tomorrow, if need be, for Istanbul. If the matter is exceptionally pressing, though, I am available to talk to you via video teleconference or over the telephone if the matter is pressing. I like forward to our countries reestablishing relations.

Best regards,

Charlie Price
Deputy Secretary of State

Ambassador Aiden Hawkins had tried, until the end, to negotiate some kind of peace between the Allied governments and Turkey until the White House ordered the withdraw of America's diplomatic mission from Istanbul. He was ultimately pleased, though, that a sensible government had returned to govern the Turkish state and that, hopefully, Turkey and the United States could have a fruitful relationship. Ambassador Hawkins would fly into Turkey with security on a U.S. Government chartered flight via the United States to Europe, and then to Turkey. Diplomatic and embassy staff would be brought in to reestablish America's diplomatic mission in Turkey, if this was acceptable by the Turkish Government.

After a day of setting up the embassy (which partly included a bug sweep by the Diplomatic Security Service), Ambassador Hawkins would offer to meet Minister Çavuşoğlu at his earliest convenience at the appropriate government building.

The Turkish government would allow the staff and security to establish the embassy. Ambassador Hawkins would be directed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building within the Government District in Ankara. Upon the Ambassador moving to the ministry building, the Turkish National Police would clear a route for his vehicle and offer to augment any personal security that he has for such movements. Upon the Ambassador's arrival, he would be escorted to the Minister's office. Minister Çavuşoğlu would be ready to greet the him in his office.

Ambassador Hawkins arrived to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in the Government District of Ankara without incident. Once he was in the Minister's office, he would offer to shake Minister Çavuşoğlu's hand.

"Minister Çavuşoğlu, it is a pleasure to be back. To be quite honest, it felt like I would never be back," he said with a friendly smile.

Minister Çavuşoğlu would smile as he shook the Ambassador's hand, and directing him towards two chairs in the office.

"The pleasure is mine, Ambassador Hawkins, to welcome you back to our country. I'm told that you did all you could with our past government, and I hope that today we can begin to work towards repairing our relationship. May I offer you a drink?"
