Incirlik AFB, 12th Squadron Hanger

TAF 4832, 12th Squadron illegally taking off during the night
On a breezy November night an F-16 would take off from Incirlik Air base south of Adana heading towards the eastern Mediterranean Sea only a few miles away, the aircraft would maintain a dangerous altitude of just a few hundred feet in order to evade local radar and Adana city air defenses which had just been completed a month ago. The aircraft would carry a full standard armament specialized for ground attack due to an Air Force exercise planned for the next day which included firing on targets near the southeastern Kurdish region of Turkey. The aircraft had been fully fueled and armed which would be against standard operating procedure in most nations but the local Air Force officer of the 12th Squadron had ordered aircraft loaded early so that he wouldn’t have to wake up that morning to oversee procedures.

The Full armament was a fully loaded 1x 20mm M61A1 Vulcan cannon, 2x AIM-9 Sidewinders, 2x GBU-31(V)1/B Bomb(Aircraft fitted with the BRU-57/A Multiple Carriage), and 4x AGM-65 Maverick air to surface missiles. The unknown pilot had snuck onto the runway and taken off without any of the incompetent ground control personnel noticing until it began to taxi down the runway. ATC and ground personnel had tried to stop the aircraft but it managed to take off heading north, the aircraft would then make a 160 degree turn and begin flying at a low altitude to shake any potential pursuing aircraft and evade the Turkish Aerial Radar Systems. The aircraft would be going at Mach 1.2 towards the Mediterranean Sea.

Sirens would begin to go off across the air base as security and pilots awakened, 15 minutes later Multiple F-16s similarly armed like the rouge jet would be scrambled to head north where the f-16 was last spotted, unfortunately radar was not able to pick up the aircraft and low horizon radar was not yet available to the Turkish Air Defense Network due to the American blocking of the procurement of such modern radar. Instead early 1980s era radar AN/TPS-77 could not detect where the jet could be.

Command of the air base would soon be aware of this situation but instead commanding officer Ali Demir who fueled the aircraft earlier without clearance would notify no one whatsoever, instead he was determined to shoot the traitor down and act as though this never happened in the first place, this means that none of the Turkish command structure outside of the air base would know of the event transpiring.

Meanwhile the F-16 would clear Turkish Aerospace and begin a coordinated low flying(high fuel consumption) flight south over the Mediterranean, flying in between Syrian and Cypriot airspace but under the radar. The Aircraft was heading for Israel, and it’s weapons were fully armed.

Current Location: 35.074965, 35.036773
Current Elevation: 400 feet above sea level

The Turkish Air Force would have no idea where the jet was and the closest radar was likely in Cyprus.

Still flying at 400 feet above sea level the F-16A would begin making its way towards the Israeli coastline at Mach 2, breaking the sound barrier in the process and sending shockwaves continuously from the aircraft that would show up on any active nearby radar in Cyprus, Lebanon, and Israel. Flying now at only 300 feet in altitude and consuming large quantities of fuel the unknown “rouge” Pilot would arm all air to air and air to surface missiles as well as bombs, the jet would now be located at position: Latitude: 33.163372 | Longitude: 34.610264 and rapidly approaching Israeli territory with all systems operational.

Meanwhile the search for the rogue pilot had been met with no success and all searching aircraft would be directed back while at the same time various government Nationalist Movement Party officials and Gendarmerie military personnel from the Southeastern Command Sector would storm the air base headquarters arresting the commanding officer and various other officers with knowledge of the defection. A new commanding officer who was also a party political officer would be silently instituted and given orders to make sure it was completely known that this was “only a defection” and not an act condoned by the Turkish Government. The pilot who supposedly defected would have his quarters covered in gasoline and set on fire with the cover story that he set it on fire in his defection. Meanwhile the pilots in his barracks would be also arrested and shoved into Gendarmerie police vehicles again on charges of conspiracy to commit treason. Records of the previous week would be also destroyed to ensure that no government would learn of the true reason behind the defection, which of course was to cause a disproportionate but still small Israeli reaction that would be met with a massive missile and aerial strike to decimate the Israeli government. President Devlet Bahçeli would of course have orchestrated all this as part of his master plan for the 5 year new ottoman expansion and elimination of the Jews.

Ramat David Air Force Base, southeast of Haifa, Israel

Alarms would buzz within the operational command center at Ramat David Air Force Base with radar operators from the Northern Air Defense Regiment picking up the Turkish Air Force fighter jet on their AN/FPS-117 radar which was based at the air force base. The commanding officer in charge would place a phone call to the Ministry of Defence to inform the government of the developments. They would also push an emergency button which would mobilise assets from the 109th "Valley" Squadron who would race across the complex to their hangers with Weapon Technicians beginning the mobilisation of weapons onto the aircraft and Logistic Suppliers beginning the fueling of the aircraft involved, all in all, it was a tight knit operation and communication was key between each member of the team. Whilst this was occuring, the pilots of each fighter jet would kit up into the appropriate safety equipment and this was checked by their handlers to ensure they had safely completed all checklists.

1 × 20 mm (0.787 in) M61A1 Vulcan 6-barrel rotary cannon, 511 rounds

6 × AIM-9 Sidewinder
3 × AIM-120 AMRAAM

Lockheed Martin Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod
SUU-42A/A Flares/Infrared decoys dispenser pod and chaff pod
AN/APG-68 radar

Eight fully loaded and fueled aircraft thundered down the runway at Ramat David Air Force Base one after each other in a safe pattern and lifted off into the night sky as they activated their afterburners and thundered towards the enemy aircraft which had been pinpointed by radar operators who would keep tracking the aircraft on their screens as they relayed positions back to the fighter jet crews who turned in a northwesterly pattern towards the rogue Turkish fighter jet and would fly towards the positions as they awaited any word from officials from the Ministry of Defence.

"Unidentified flight, this is VALLEY 0-1. you are approaching Israeli airspace, please divert your course immediately. I repeat, you are approaching Israeli airspace, divert your course immediately or you will be shot down."

The lead flight commander spoke over his radio in Hebrew and Arabic, meanwhile he would begin relaying images of the rogue General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon and the weapons that the aircraft possesed back to Ramat David Air Force Base on a secure line which would be passed onto the Military Intelligence Directorate for assessment and review. All communication between Israeli aircraft, ground crew and the rogue Turkish fighter jet would be recorded for evidence alongside flight paths if the fighter jet was to intrude into Israeli airspace then it would be taken as an extreme threat.

The Aircraft would not respond to the Israeli messages and continue on it’s course, the pilot who still was un-identified would not understand the message(because they speak Turkish) and have increased drive to complete their mission especially after the Israelis assume that all Muslims speak Arabic which clearly shows their bigoted and racist ways.

Suddenly and without warning the aircraft would make a rapid U-turn and then make a rapid dive to a point where the jet was only 20 feet above sea level after pulling back up. The F-16A would then reduce airspeed significantly to a point where it could stall at any point and deploy flares right in front of the tailing Israelis. The aircraft would be just a half kilometer to Israeli Airspace and closing fast, Fully expecting the Israeli Aircraft to fire at any moment. The F-16 would also let out a burst of rounds from its M61A1 Vulcan cannon into the sea and away from any nearby aircraft for no reason other than to provoke the Israelis.

Ramat David Air Force Base, southeast of Haifa, Israel

Back at the Northern Air Defence Regiment headquarters based at Ramat David Air Force Base, personnel would still be scrambling around as the unknown aircraft fast approached Israeli airspace and the Commanding Officer had been on the phone with the Minister of Defence and the Prime Minister gave the order to shoot down the aircraft if it entered Israeli airspace. After following all protocols given to them under Israeli Defence Force rules, they would feed this to the pilots over their encrypted radios who would still keep feeding back live video feed to the Northern Air Defence Regiment headquarters.

Israeli General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcons flying in formation

The highly trained pilots would follow the enemy aircraft in a safe pattern, the cameras from inside the cockpit picking up the aggressive movements from the aircraft they had been tailing. They noted the positioning of the aircraft and radioed back to command who had also been tracking the positioning of the aircraft. The lead flight commander would once again transmit over radio in Hebrew, English and also Arabic which was a recognised language in Israel.

"Unidentified flight, this is VALLEY 0-1, you are approaching Israeli airspace, divert your course immediately, I repeat, divert your course immediately or you will be shot down."

Since you didn't state having flare systems in Post 1, the fighter aircraft would come without flares which the Turkish pilot would realise once he tried to use the system. The pilots would still follow from behind in a safe pattern and would communicate all movement on internal Israeli Air Force channels so that they could make strategic decisions.

The F-16A would continue it’s course at Mach 2.2 and fly straight through Israeli Airspace and begin making it’s way to Tel Aviv, the jet would have it’s thrust at 100% trying to get as quickly as possible to the City, the pilot at the same time would erratically fly in order to break any potential lock the Israeli F-16s might have. The coastline of the city and it’s high rises could be seen on the horizon and the F-16 would be to the city center within 5 minutes. The F-16 is now 100 feet above sea level.

The radar operators belonging to the Northern Air Defense Regiment based at Ramat David Air Force Base continued tracking the aircraft whilst making notes and communicating with colleagues across the room. It was the commanding officer in the regiment who noticed that the enemy aircraft had crossed over into Israeli airspace and was now on course for Tel Aviv which caused a quick response and transmitted this to the Minister of Defence who further communicated this to the Prime Minister. From the ground, authorisation had been given to fire upon the aircraft and this was communicated over the encrypted communications system.

Upon authorisation being given after the enemy aircraft had breached Israeli airspace, the lead F-16 pilot known under callsign VALLEY-01 took position behind the enemy aircraft as it crossed into Israeli airspace and used the Lockheed Martin Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod to target the Turkish F-16 which was on course for Tel Aviv and locked on two of the AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles and fired them which caused the two missiles hurdling towards the enemy aircraft. The aircraft broke off once they fired the missiles to not catch any debris from any potential explosion which may affect them or the other Israeli contingent. It was only a matter of time before the missiles hit due to the distance between the Israeli aircraft and the enemy aircraft due to them not carrying flares.

Due to twenty-four hours passing, the aircraft would be deemed to have crashed into waters after being shot down by the Israeli Air Force General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon, the position would be relayed back to the headquarters of the Northern Air Defence Regiment who would contact the navy to deploy search and rescue assets to look for any signs of life. Two Super Dvora Mk II-class patrol boats would race out from Ashdod Naval Base bound for position 32.206480, 34.659525 which was the site of the downed jet. Six personnel manned each patrol boat whilst wearing all safety equipment including lifejackets whilst the patrol boats also contained an Oerlikon 20 mm cannon. After racing out to the scene of the crash at 96 km/h, would they find the Turkish pilot dead or alive.

The downing of the Turkish Air Force jet was passed up to the Prime Minister's Office who was to coordinate a private response with partner countries. This was of course kept private between those in the Israeli Government.

Turkish Radar Operators from MIT Command would have been monitoring the entire situation and see that the Aircraft had been shot down based on the signal sent by the F-16 to the Base, and this information would be secretly sent out to the President. For now they would keep silent and see how Israel would react, if they potentially became hostile and then it was announced it was a rouge aircraft Israel would take international condemnation for it’s actions against Turkey. Now they waited.

Meanwhile the F-16 would have been blown to pieces as the sidewinder exploded on the side wing, igniting the fuel in the aircraft and causing the weaponry on the F-16 to explode as it was already armed. The pilot would not survive and wouldn’t be identifiable in the wreckage. Most of the pieces still left of the aircraft would sink quickly to the bottom of the Mediterranean leaving only shrapnel and a greasy oil slink behind from where the aircraft had been essentially annihilated.

Radar and SAM systems would be on high alert for the next 72+ hours, watching for any Israeli Incursions that would be met with a barrage of Rapier and S-300 Missiles.

The two patrol boats would return to port after searching for any sign of life and not finding any. They would report their findings to Israeli Navy Naval Intelligence Division upon arrival back into port and would prepare a briefing for the Prime Minister who was going to raise the issue within the Security Cabinet which was unknown to any foreign government.
