[Russian Federation]: Ultimatum To France and Belgium

Minister of Defense Pavel Grachev would make a speech from the Ministry of Defense Building in Moscow televised on public news channels.

"War has erupted between Belgium and France, seemingly out of no where and with no build up. Already there are reports of civilians being caught in the cross fire. This war will not be tolerated.

France and Belgium will go into a a cease fire within two days or the following will happen. The Russian Federation will enact sanctions on the country or countries unwilling to enter a cease fire. The Russian Federation will enact a blockade of the country or countries that do not enter the cease fire. The Russian Federation will declare aggressive a no fly zone along French-Belgium border. The Russian Federation will forcibly halt air traffic coming in or out of the responsible countries.

Should the countries abide by these demands, they will furthermore agree to come to Moscow in five days time for a peace conference. These countries will submit to a DMZ along the stretch of the French Belgium border. These countries will submit to a force of Russian Peace Keepers to maintain the DMZ until the conclusion of peace talks.

This war is pointless, and without merit. It will end.
Those are our demands."

France would state that they would only agree to a ceasefire under the terms of a complete Belgian withdrawal from France and the creation of an exclusion zone north of the Border, which would remove the threat of Belgian Invasion under the force of international law. Furthermore, the High Kingdom would demand that any peacekeeping forces in the region be stringently vetted, and placed under strict rules of engagement and weapon releases authorizations that would ensure that they would not engage in any sort of aggressive action against French civilians.

Belgium would accept responsibility for the actions of its armed forces conceeding its intention of expanding in order to take those parts of France deemed worthy of forced incorporation on the basis of their historical ties to the former Kingdom of Flanders. Furthermore, the Minister of Defense would be sacked for gross incompetence and arrested for crimes against the Belgian people with a pending investigation for unauthorized obstruction of the peace. Belgium, would withdraw its troops from the French side of the border in an orderly fashion but would refuse the presence of Russian peacekeepers opting instead for a white peace.
