RUSSIA IN TURMOIL; YELTSIN RESIGNS, COMMUNISTS IN SIBERIA, WAR ON THE HORIZON

Protests in Moscow, November 1998
Russia has been in turmoil since the economic crisis that has affected the country since last year. The resolution that had been passed within the Global Assembly helped to quench the largest of the crisis and assured that famine did not take hold within the Russian Federation and allowed the nation to prevent bankruptcy, but inflation of the Ruble and mass unemployment have been a long enduring problem since the stock market had crashed. Moscow is currently experiencing its third-wave of mass protests; tens of thousands of unemployed, homeless, and students have taken to the streets to protest against the Russian government and their inability to contain the economic crisis in the country. However, unlike the first wave of protests that involved pro-Communists and resorted to various forms of violence, this wave of protests have remained peaceful and the protesters have kept to protesting in the forms of marching, graffiti, boycotts and stand-ins. The sheer number of protesters and the duration of their protests have left the Russian government with no other choice than to call for the resignation of President Boris Yeltsin and the appointment of Vladimir Putin as President of the Russian Federation.

During the distractions in Moscow, Russia had begun fragmentating. The communists that had led violent protests in the capital had moved to the vast lands of Siberia once they were pushed out of Moscow where they are now supported by various units of the Russia military and sources have stated they have begun arming themselves, led by Yevgeny Dzhugashvili - grandson of the infamous Joseph Stalin. Further east, in Vladivostok, far-right militants of neo-Nazis and neo-Fascists have armed themselves against the pro-Communists of Siberia, made up of various paramilitary groups. In the Republic of Tuva, supported by the all-Tuvan military units stationed there, have advocated for their independence and have readied themselves to fight for it. In the south, Chechen terrorists have taken up arms again and have begun spreading their actions into Dagestan and surrounding regions. They call themselves the 'Caucasus Emirate' and are led by a Dokka Umarov. Lastly, in the north-east, a large majority of the Russian Armed Forces have given their support for a Romanov and have taken St. Petersburg and surrounding areas.

As of now, no blood has been spilled, no shots fired. But the Motherland is fragmented and war is on the horizon.
