Dear Minister Turgay Pasa,
On behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Defence, I extend our highest regards and reaffirm our commitment to the longstanding relationship between our two nations, built on mutual respect, strategic cooperation, and shared regional interests. I have been informed that our two current leaders are currently locked in talks but I wanted to get down to business with your department.
In line with our ongoing efforts to strengthen national defense capabilities across the European and Mediterranean region and enhance interoperability with key partners, we wish to formally express our interest in initiating discussions regarding the acquisition of advanced military equipment from the Republic of Türkiye. We have observed with great appreciation the growth and innovation of the Turkish defense industry, particularly the quality and performance of its air, land, and naval systems.
We wish to propose the establishment of a multi-billion dollar defense procurement framework that would include, but not be limited to, the acquisition of armored vehicles, missile systems and naval platforms, along with transfer-of-technology components. We believe this would lay the foundation for a robust and mutually beneficial defense partnership.
