Tens of thousands of people had took to the streets of Madrid draped in Spanish flags and held placards and banners calling for the resignation of the current Spanish government after failing to deliver on their plans after the election. Hundreds of police officers would be deployed onto the streets of Madrid to keep up law and order, people would be allowed to voice their frustrations but if violence or any other crimes would be committed then they would be arrested with ease.

The Palace of Moncloa was surrounded by many protesters calling for change, and they wanted it now.

128 people had been arrested for dangerous activity so far with 19 people being admitted to hospital for minor injuries.

The Congress of Deputies would form an emergency session with the Deputy Prime Minister filling in for the Prime Minister who was away on holiday, this caused uproar from many Congress members who had also been calling for the Prime Minister's resignation and the entire cabinet at that.

A motion of no confidence in the Spanish government of Pedro Sánchez was submitted to the President of the Congress of Deputies who would issue a vote on the ruling which members would begin to vote on the motion over the course of the next four hours.

With the passage of the motion, Pedro Sánchez and his government immediately resigned. According to the Constitution, Mariano Rajoy was automatically deemed to have the confidence of the legislature, and thus ascended as Prime Minister with the Congress applauding.
