The Minister for the Environment, Sport and Territories, Ms. Ros Kelly would pick up in her private office in Parliament House. The line would be fully encrypted by the Defence Signals Directorate. She would see the call originating from Sweden.

"..... Yes?....."

"Antarctica - I am willing to discuss the recognition of Australian Antarctic Territory spanning from Kemp land to Wilkes Land, however Sweden would like, in return, quiet enjoyment of the rest of her claim."

She would grab out her map of Antarctica.

"Kemp Land.... Kemp Land." She would look at where it was.

"Oh yes, Kemp Land....

Well, Australian Antarctic Territory also includes Enderby Land, George V Land, Oates Land and now with our expansion, Adelie Land. So I will only be open to that being expanded to include those areas. Oh and 160 east to 150 west being reserved for New Zealand. And that's only if the GA resolution fails. Our primary goal is making sure that resolution passes and we have an international law framework in place for Antarctica. If that resolution fails and we see no outcome in that arena... then yes, we will be open to discussions. Is there anything else I can do you for?"

"You can do as you wish with Antarctica and the Global Assembly, we have no intention to remain in recognition of the Global Assembly and her charters - you cannot criticise the expansion of the Kingdom of Sweden and then explain your own claim, that's completely hypocritical... and you cannot start reserving others for foreign states, this is a continent for scientific research, not a place for dinner reservations. I am offering you peace, which you are proactively rejecting. I will recognise the Australian Antarctic Territory bar Adelie Land, which we are pending discussions with the French."

"Well if the French were willing to take Adelie Land, we would be open to allowing them to do that. We only took it because the French saw no active interest in Antarctica and we thought it was better if we took Adelie Land. But we are very close with New Zealand, geographically and emotionally and we know if and when they get an active government they would like to have an active participation in Antarctica and have their own claim. As for your intentions in the Global Assembly. That's fine. But I've told you our position and its clear, we're not going to discuss this until after a conclusion of the summit and/or a resolution debate. That position is not changing. It would be hypocritical to propose this resolution and this summit and then proceed to make deals without there being a conclusion in the GA debate, either passing or failing that resolution. We will see this resolution through and then IF it fails and we're not left with many options, we will be open to discussions. Simple as that."
