US Department of State,

As I am sure you are aware, Turkey is engaged with Kurdish Rebels in the Eastern part of the nation and has demanded that the Syrian Government take action in policing Kurdish areas in Syria as they believe the two societies are linked. We have refused to allow another nation to make demands against our own people who have done nothing wrong and we will not allow Turkey to separate the bond that Syria's different ethnic groups have made post-collapse. As such Turkey will be taking economic actions such as shutting its borders down and preventing Syrian trade through the straight leading to the Black Sea along with increased troop numbers at our border. While we see no direct threat of attack at the moment we believe the first domino has fallen and as they increase there military presence at the border so shall we. We worry Turkish anger at its Kurdish population could lead it to striking Syrian Civilians in the future which would lead to war.

As for what we are asking, we simply request US keep an eye on Turkey. A US statement at Turkey if it follows through with its economic sanctions would be appreciated but what we really desire is the US be prepared if it is willing to do so, to be that major power that helps stop conflict before the first shell lands.

V/R
Office of the President
Syrian Arab Republic.

Your Excellency,

Details are very important in situations like this. Does your government have any physical evidence that Turkish forces are actively engaging in battle with Kurdish forces, or that Turkey has put troops along your shared border? We are also wondering if you have attempted to discuss these matters with Turkey diplomatically? The United States is prepared intervene in any kind of genocide that may be taking place, but there first needs to be evidence that it is happening.
