To: <Hussein Al-Mubarqa, Secretary of State of the Republic of Iraq> Nathan From: <Sarabun@mfa.mail.go.th> Subject: Proposal for Cultural and Educational Exchanges between Thailand and Iraq Security Type: NSST 1.0 Architecture |
State Secretary,
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Thailand extends its warmest greetings to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq. Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra of Thailand congratulates President Rayya Taha of Iraq on securing sufficient public support to win the recent election. Thailand commends the free and transparent nature of your democratic processes.
In light of the gradual stabilization of the political climate in Iraq, the Government of Thailand is keen to strengthen our diplomatic relations through incremental measures, allowing both nations to adapt to this evolving relationship. We propose exploring avenues for cultural and educational exchanges, which have the potential to bond our peoples amid changing political regimes or circumstances.
Thailand aims to lay a robust foundation for future cooperation through comprehensive cultural and educational exchange programs, developed within a bilateral framework and guided by working groups representing both parties’ interests.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has drafted an initial proposal for this agreement. We are keen to understand if the Government of Iraq is interested in enhancing our bilateral relations through people-to-people initiatives. This approach ensures mutual understanding and alignment before committing to any formal agreement.
Sincerely,
Surakiart Sathirathai
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Republic of Thailand
