Please accepts my sincere congratulation on your new position in the new Reinfeldt Administration. As someone responsible for transportation infrastructure management and development, I comprehend the expectations our citizens hold deeply for us. The Government of Thailand and the Minister of Transport value our cooperation in the past, and we are committed to deeper collaboration.

Early this month, in January, the Thai Government began our Mass Rapid Transit Master Plan in Bangkok Metropolitan Region with over $20 billion in funds to construct 224 new stations and 496.34 kilometers of railway to the existing Mass Rapid Transit System. We are proud to say this project is one of the most extensive Mega Projects ever commenced since 1995. With the technological advancement in Thailand and access to various infrastructures, we are experiencing a massive demand for public transportation to support the growing economy.

We want to offer the Swedish Department of Infrastructure to send a technical visit team to Bangkok to observe the project operations and exchange knowledge. Thailand is expanding accessibility to commuters to boost business opportunities with higher engagement with over 9.8 million daily passenger estimations (The current number is 1.3 million raiders daily). We are looking at a more accessible economy for consumers to spend more conveniently. We believe this is something the Swedish can send a team visit to Thailand to search for their business opportunity.

We are willing to provide financial support to help cover the costs of the visit, such as travel expenses or accommodation. We will offer access to key contacts or resources, such as introductions to potential business partners or experts in relevant fields. We will provide access to exclusive events or activities, such as tours of significant cultural or historical sites or participation in business networking events. We will provide personalized support to help visitors navigate local customs or regulations, such as offering translation services or assistance with visa applications.

Lastly, Thailand, as a faithful and international partner of Sweden, we are committed to collaborating with the Swedish Government for the interest of our citizens. I am extremely pleased to have received your correspondence relating to the Mass Rapid Transit Master Plan in Bangkok Metropolitan Region - the investment of $20 billion dollars is phenomenal and unmatched internationally. A project of this magnitude will without doubt be a hugely beneficial infrastructure addition to Bangkok, one which will see a wealth of benefits to the general public. It is truly aspirational to see our international partner, across the other side of the globe, having seen such an increase in economic power over the past few years.

It would be a great honour to send a small team to oversee your project operations. This is an opportunity for not only your own teams to learn from European technologies but also the reverse; it is well known that Asian construction is some of the most efficient in the world. The team will include the Deputy Secretary of Infrastructure, Annie Lööf, alongside four aides who work and advise in various different sectors. I would have loved to visit Bangkok myself however unfortunately with the recent appointment of the cabinet, there are many affairs I must attend to in Stockholm and for the time being find myself tied to my desk! Metaphorically of course.

The cost of our visit will be covered in it's entirety by my department. We would much rather see the monies offered invested within Thailand, on other projects you may have lined up.

The Republic of Thailand Government would wait for the arrival of the Swedish delegrate team led by the Deputy Infrastructure Secretary, Annie Lööf.​

Within a matter of hours the Deputy Secretary of Infrastructure, Annie Lööf, alongside a number of her aides and delegates from within the department would make their way to Såtenäs Air Base where the Swedish Royal Air Force had prepared an Airbus A330-300 from the Skaraborg Air Force Wing, 1st Special Transport Squadron, 1st Special Transport Flight. This section and aircraft was usually reserved for official visits by the royal family or senior government positions however on this occasion, given the gravity of the invitation by the Thai Ministry of Transport and a clear definition in the new Swedish foreign policy to promote intercontinental investment the use of the aircraft was more of a public display of appreciation. Prior to being boarded ground crews would naturally ensure the aircraft was in an airworthy condition by being fully fuelled, had ungone standard pre-flight checklists and exterior walk around and a test of all onboard systems, sensors and countermeasures. Once ready, the team would board the aircraft and a memorandum would be sent to the Thai delegation regarding the departure of the aircraft, designated callsign 'TYSON'.

Throughout the flight all systems and sensors would be monitored throughout and the onboard flight crew would maintain encrypted communication with Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters if required, whilst also maintaining lawful contact with civilian Air Traffic Control.

The F-16 AM MLUs and F-16 BM MLUs swiftly fell into formation alongside 'TYSON,' a show of respect and camaraderie that would set the tone for the upcoming negotiations. The escorts accompanied the Airbus on its final approach to Suvarnabhumi Airport, their presence a reminder of the importance and significance of the Swedish delegation's visit. As the wheels of 'TYSON' touched down on Thai soil, the fighter jets peeled away in a breathtaking display of aerial prowess, leaving the passengers in awe.

With the sun setting over the bustling city of Bangkok, Deputy Secretary Lööf and her team disembarked from the aircraft, taking their first steps into a new world of collaboration and opportunity. A sense of adventure filled the air, as they knew that the decisions made during their visit would shape the futures of both nations. With night settling in and the silhouettes of cranes and unfinished structures looming in the distance, the delegation prepared to return to their accommodations. As they boarded the bus, The Thais knew that their reception was far from over. The experiences of the day ignited a fire within them, fueling their determination to work together and create a brighter, more connected future for both their countries and the world.

TYSON would operate its way through the flight plan in accordance with international law whilst obviously operating in the capacity of an aircraft of the Swedish Royal Air Force which naturally resulted in a heightened sense of security throughout. As they reach Thai airspace and find themselves shepherded through the remainder of the flight by the presumably livered General Dynamic F-16's the delegation would take photographs through their respective office windows aboard the flight, a memory and a testament to the ongoing commitment between Sweden and Thailand. Videos would also be captures as the aircraft reached it's final descent into Suvarnabhumi Airport where it would land without issue and begin its taxi to the appropriate gate.

The door of the aircraft would be pushed open by crew onboard leaving the Swedish coat of arms exposed to the media photographers and onlookers at the bottom of the staircase. An appropriate backdrop as the delegation made their way out of the aircraft and downwards towards the awaiting Minister. The preparations made for the arrival of the Swedish did not go unnoticed and they were quite obviously speechless on their way down the the phenomenal array of well choreographed displays of Thai culture. Firm handshakes and the stereotypical European air-kiss to the cheek were exchanged where appropriate as a returned display of appreciation and greeting as the delegation reached their Thai counterpart before they turn to continue to observe the variety of performers. It went without saying that the very beginning of their visit in Thailand had impressed the Swedish delegation beyond belief from the unexpected military escort and performance, the huge expression of culture at the airport, the hospitality of the Thai government delegation, the accommodation and the feast had all laid groundwork in what was perceived as a monumental display of respect.

Without delay the Swedish delegation, all bar the Deputy Secretary armed with various notepads and documents, would make their way to the first site where they'd observe the workers of the Mass Rapid Transit project. As the Secretary, a politician at heart rather than having any real expertise in this particular area of business, marvelled at the works the various aides would make notes and take photographs of materials, work techniques and even remarking on particular contractors, business and sponsors involved in the works - all credible for their independent involvement and essential to the projected Swedish investment in Thailand. Throughout the day the team would ask various questions about the ongoing work and where possible take advantage of the ability to speak to those involved in the projects, outside of the management-style conversational routine.

The project was undoubtedly a huge benefit to the Thai economy and an incredible piece of engineering.
