Enoch.png

Enoch
King of Norway

Birthday
March 9, 1989

Age
24

Height
6'7" (201cm)

Hometown
Trondheim, Norway

First Appearance
"
The Norwegian Crisis"

King Enoch is one of the youngest heads of state in Europe and possibly one of the most popular, at least amongst his own people. He ascended to the throne after the sudden death of his father, leaving him parentless. Due to a series of tragic and unfortunate events in the past, including the deaths of many members of the royal family, Enoch's line of the Oldenburg branch was in line for the throne. Enoch is survived by no parents, siblings, or children. His family line stands alone with him. He was first introduced in "The Norwegian Crisis" during a pivotal time in Norway's history. Shortly after a snap-election was called, King Enoch was with the Queen of Norway in their hometown of Trondheim which is far away from the capital of Oslo. Through some kind of electoral-manipulation, the Communist Party of Norway managed to gain a controlling majority of seats in the Storting (Norway's Parliament). The Prime Minister rejected the election results and demanded the Supreme Court to review the situation. The Communist Party resorted to killing two Supreme Court justices and forcing the Prime Minister to resign. Fearing a communist coup of the Norwegian government, Enoch returned to Oslo with his uncle - a famous general of the Norwegian Army - and marched into Oslo with an armored division of the Norwegian Home Guard. The King famously walked up the steps of the Storting Building and declared that he was dissolving the parliament and sacking his ministers until new elections could be held. For a matter of weeks, King Enoch and his self-appointed "royal cabinet" were in complete control of the government. To the relief of the nation, King Enoch oversaw constitutional reforms that - without his influence - granted him authority over foreign affairs and the armed forces, and the election of a new government. Enoch gladly ceded the rest of his temporal power to the government. This gained him national popularity which he still retains now, with approval ratings at or above 90%. "If he took control of the government again," one commentator said, "the people would likely rise in support of him."

Enoch is a young man, but he does have some knowledge and wisdom that makes him a unique individual. He went to school at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology where he studied Environmental Science. He is unusually tall and may suffer from a genetic disorder - though this has never been officiated. He spent a semester studying abroad at Texas A&M Unviersity in Texas as an exchange-member of the Corps of Cadets. In university was where he met the future Prime Minister, Leif Holt, who was one of his professors. Professor Holt became a good acquaintance of then-Crown Prince Enoch and even oversaw his initiation into the Freemasons. After graduating early from university, Enoch became a member of the Marinejegerkommandoen, which was the predecessor to the modern Nordic Rangers who are considered to be Norway's most elite special forces unit. After a short time in the service, he became King and was a part of the aforementioned coup attempt on the government, which he prevented. Beloved by the people and respected by the armed forces, Enoch is without doubt the most powerful person in Norway both in hard and soft power.

Among his friends and colleagues, Enoch is known to be understanding and have a good sense of humor. Despite being the royal leader of a country, he has been able to maintain a respectable level of humility while still appearing regal from a distance. He's known for enjoying secret getaways with his wife, Queen Sophia, and admittedly very much likes to drink and smoke cigars. He is arrogant at times, which probably stems from the fact that he is a rather handsome and confidant young man. He has a high respect for tradition but also places considerable value on doing the right thing. Above all else, however, he revers the little that's left of his family: Queen Sophia, and his Uncle Ingvar. His protectiveness of them is without doubt and would come before all else. Enoch is the head of the Church of Norway and is a faithful Christian and husband.

Sophia.png

Sophia
Queen of Norway

Birthday
January 10, 1991

Age
22

Height
6'3" (191cm)

Hometown
Trondheim, Norway

First Appearance
"
The Norwegian Crisis"

Sophia is the wife of the most powerful man in Norway. She met him at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and quickly developed a relationship with him. Before Enoch entered Norwegian special forces, they were married. It's often discussed that the marriage of Sophia and Enoch was, uniquely, one of love and not one of convenience. Sophia was a student who double-majored in Religious Studies and Scandinavian Language and Literature. She herself was from an aristocratic family, by technicality. Her entire family, including her still-living parents, still reside in the City of Trondheim. Both she and Enoch retain a strong attachment to Trondheim, which is why they visit it often. While believed to also be a faithful member of the Church of Norway, Sophia is secretly a Norse pagan who worships the old Norse gods along with a number of undisclosed people ("My gods, My gods, Why Have You Forsaken Me?"). This secret has so far been kept from the prying eyes of the public and the press, either by suppression or by careful calculation, and is maintained to this day.

Sophia is known to be a counter-weight to Enoch who can be impulsive and - at his worst - quick to anger. Other than his uncle, Sophia can at times be his only balance. She is known to be exceptionally kind, forgiving, and loving in a motherly way. Although she does not have as large of a national and international reputation of her husband, Sophia is a force to be reckoned with and is, without objection the most powerful woman in Norway. Her beauty is the envy of the nation and under the constant admiration of Enoch. Since the Great Winter of 2012, and as a coincidence of an order by King Enoch, the Queen is technically the commander-in-chief of all armed forces in Trondheim. Sophia is also the heir apparent to the throne - as designated by King Enoch - and would take his place as Sovereign upon his death or temporarily in any case of his incapacitation. Beloved by her people, Sophia is one of the most admired people in Northern Europe.

Ingvar.png

Ingvar
Prince of Norway

Birthday
December 6, 1941

Age
71

Height
5'10" (178cm)

Hometown
Trondheim, Norway

First Appearance
"
The Norwegian Crisis"

Ingvar is a very unique character in Norway. He is a Prince, the Minister of Defense, and the Chief of Defense all at the same time. Brother of the late-king, Ingvar is now the only known relative of Enoch left living. Ingvar is perhaps the most incredible figure in Norway, save his nephew, due to his service in the Norwegian Army. Starting from the ranks as an enlisted man, he honestly worked his way up to the position of general and lead Norway in some of its most darkest hours. In his years of experience in the armed forces, he garnered much knowledge that he know paces on to his nephew who respects him and often seeks his council. Had it not been for Ingvar, Enoch would have never prevented the 2012 coup attempt in Norway. Thanks to Ingvar's advice and connections, King Enoch was able to take command of an armored division of the Home Guard and move into Oslo unopposed. To this very day, Ingvar remains the most respected military figure in the country. So much so, that even the most liberal parts of the Storting do not dare admonish him for his position as both Minister of Defense and Chief of Defense of Norway. If it were any other person, this would be considered an outrage.

Ingvar is an incredibly wise individual who places spirituality and righteousness above all else. He will always support doing whatever the "right thing" is. He is a true patriot to Norway and is absolutely willing to die for his country. Although he had the opportunity to easily take the throne upon the death of his brother, he supported the rightful heir, Enoch, because he knew it was the just thing to do, and because he loved his nephew. Ingvar is an incredible man of character, wisdom, knowledge, and honesty who wants nothing more than the success of his country and the glory of his nephew, the King.

Holt.png

Dr. Leif Holt
Prime Minister of Norway

Birthday
April 6 1952

Age
61

Height
5'9" (175cm)

Hometown
Trondheim, Norway

First Appearance
"
Sweden: Message To All Diplomatic Missions"

Dr. Leif Holt is the current Prime Minister of Norway and retains a noticeably high approval-rating among his countrymen compared to other European heads of government. Famously, he was a Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology where he taught King Enoch. He later became the Rector of the university and oversaw all official academic and administrative activities. Once the attempted Coup of 2012 was thwarted, Enoch considered appointing his uncle Ingvar as Prime Minister of Norway until a new government was elected, however he did not want it to appear that he was trying to consolidate a royal government to permanently take over the country. He originally chose Dr. Holt to be Minister of Foreign Affairs but, after proving himself competent, Enoch appointed him Prime Minister. Dr. Holt was an independent, but eventually aligned himself with the Conservative Party who elected him as leader of the party and Prime Minister in the next election. The Conservative Party saw so much support that it gained enough seats to have absolute control of the government without the need for a coalition. This was partially thanks to Enoch's praise of Dr. Holt for his leadership.

Today, Dr. Holt remains Prime Minister of Norway. He is still in close communications with King Enoch and is a Freemason just as he is. They both share similar ideas, but respectfully disagree. Dr. Holt is a gentleman but is arrogant enough to believe that Norway is exceptional among the countries of Europe. He is a proud member of the Church of Norway and could see himself in no other church than that. Despite his lack of military service, he is highly respected among the armed forces, the general populace, and academia. In reality, he is one of the best possible choices that Enoch could have chosen to be Prime Minister of his kingdom.
