The droning sound of an ambulance's sirens filled the filled, sunlit streets of downtown Warsaw. Flanking either side of the ambulance, leading it through its journey through the capital of Poland, were police cars flashing through blue lights. Whomever on board had enough pull to garner a full police escort through the city to their destination. Following close behind the convoy, was an equally imposing motorcade of Mercedez-Benz SUVs. Cameras caught the fast traveling motorcade as it travelled throughout the city, causing some sort of worry as to what important person had been wounded enough to warrant a full convoy of police and government vehicles. Streetlights were changed from red to green and vice versa, clearing the way for the convoy through the packed city. This continued until they arrived at their destination. The University Clinical Centre of the Medical University of Warsaw. It was the chosen hospital for government officials due to their high standards and advanced techniques borrowed form the western nations.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. We apologize to interrupt your regularly scheduled programing but we have just received some breaking news. We have been informed that an ambulance with a police and government escort has been sighted leaving from the King's Palace and stopping at the University Clinical Centre. We do know that this is the chosen hospital for government officials. We are still gathering information but we can only believe it can be related to the Brodnowksi Cemetery massacre and the terrorists who perpetuated the act who are still at large. As some of you know, the University Clinical Centre is the same hospital who attempted to save Detective Nikolai Novichek's life after he was wounded during a brief shootout outside the PKO Polish Bank some months ago. Authorities have credited the attack to the culprits behind the Brodnowski Cemetery Massacre, which has since been dubbed Katyn 2.0 by online communities.

"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you stay outside while we operate. There has been a complication and we will have to perform a surgery to save your wife." The nurse's voice was very matter of fact and left little room for the man to argue with her before the doors closed behind her. Things had went south since he found his wife in a pool of blood. Something had gone wrong and he knew he would blame himself if things went further south. He sat down next to the man wearing the black suit who stood nearby carrying an assault rifle, ear piece relaying information to him from other agents inside and outside the hospital. They had cleared an entire floor of the hospital to insure the safety of their VIPs, much to the argument of the man who sat running his hands through unkempt hair. Normally the man was one who was always stately in appearance and demeanor. But here he was coming apart at the seams it seemed like. The man spoke into his sleeve before turning his attention to the man sitting before him.

"Sir, I have a coffee coming for you. It will be a long day and a long night. I know you won't get any sleep, so please accept the coffee. And don't worry sir. Her Majesty is a fighter, you know that more any anyone."

Throughout the night the King had to suffer through phone calls from the chosen delegation to the Grand European Summit. As much as he would have like to focus on what was going on inside that surgery, he still had duties to the state that demanded his attention. Through bloodshot eyes of someone who had little sleep, he finally stood from his seated position and approached his guard who had moved some distance away to provide as much solitude as possible in a public setting.

"Let us return to the capital building, Pietr. There is not much I can do here but wait and that does no one any good. I will merely drive myself insane with worry as I wait. At least there I can occupy my mind while they are in surgery."

Pietr nodded and spoke into the microphone clipped onto his cuff before opening the door for the King to exit the room.

"Nurse pack the gauze into the incision. I have a bleeder and we need to stop it. Get suction in there as well. I need to see the artery so I can sew it."

The doctors moved with military fashion as they worked diligently to sew the middle-aged woman before them. Seemingly in fine health in her many check-ups, they were unsure as to what caused the sudden hemorrhage. It could have been eclampsia but she bore none of the warning signs of preeclampsia. They had missed something over the nine months she had been pregnant. Now they had to deal with a ruptured artery, massive hemorrhaging, They had been in the surgery for three hours now. The child's vitals were good, so they set about repairing the damage on the inside of the woman. If they could get her stable, they could reduce the chances of any harm coming to the child.

"I say we bring up our Educational Initiative that we have been so proud of. Getting Polish students abroad and foreign students inside of Poland will bolster the economy and hopefully boost tourism. It will also do the same to those nations who partake in it."

The Ministry of Education who had not been chosen to go to the Summit still spoke his mind freely. He was definitely invested in his job as Minister of Education. He wanted to insure the students of the world received a well rounded education. Even if that meant bringing foreigners into Poland and sending Poles elsewhere in the world.

"I agree, Michel. I will see about bringing it up at the Summit. But for now, we must depart.

There was a sigh of relief in the surgery as the arterial clamp was removed and there was no more blood spurting into the open cavity of the woman's stomach.

"Sir, baby's vitals are dropping."

"Intubate and start anesthesia. Page NICU and have them on standby. Ready two units of O negative and begin to push through."

The surgeon would wait for the okay from the anesthesiologist before turning to the nurse. Number ten scalpel"

Red emergency lights flashed through the corridors of the hospital as armed military personnel ran to their stations throughout the hospital. Royal Land Forces Security Forces took stations throughout the hospital, stationed at corners of the hallways and entryways. A military PZL W-3 Sokol landed on the helipad intended for medical flights as they began offloading casualties from the terrorist attack in Warsaw. Chemical burns on skin and lung tissue was the most prevalent wounds. Many of the patients sported black tags attached to their persons. Some had red tags and even fewer had yellow tags. None sported the hopeful green tags.

The Military Institute of Medicine was one of the few hospitals with the technical specs and personnel trained to deal with mass casualty incidents and had been slated to deal with the majority of the triage from one of the few hospitals that rivaled them in skills and technology.

"Only authorized personnel allowed beyond this point sir." A gun was drawn. A single suppressed gunshot rolled through the halls, drowned out by screaming patients, doctors, and sirens.

"The queen should be somewhere on this floor. Kill anyone standing in our way. Make sure you have the flowers in view of the camera."
