It has been roughly two weeks now since the transition of power from ex-President Jiang Zemin and his government to Hu Jintao and his own allies and now, his new government. For too long now, the “Jiang Clique” had ruled over the Chinese government and the whole of China, corrupting its politics and leeching off of the people for their own gains. With Jiang now out of the way and his public influence destroyed, it was Hu’s new duty to reverse all the damage done and root out his accomplices. Doing so shouldn’t be too difficult, after all, it was no secret that Jiang filled the Politburo Standing Committee with his own men before being forced into retirement to make it difficult for Hu and his Vice-President to carry out their policies. This difficulty was brought to light during the 5th Plenary Meeting when Hu’s attempts at reshuffling the Politburo was blocked by known members of the Jiang Clique.
These difficulties had to be addressed and a solution needed to be found immediately. In his office in Zhongnanhai, President Hu would have sent a message for his Vice-President, Zeng Qinghong, to come to his office for a meeting. What this meeting was about would have remained secret.
It would have only taken a few moments before Vice-President Zeng arrived as he too lived within the walls of Zhongnanhai. The guards of Hu’s home would let Zeng inside and escort him to his office where Hu was awaiting him.
“Thank you, you may leave.” Hu would tell the guards, they would bow and close the door. “Mr. Vice-President, welcome to my office, please have a seat. We’ve much to discuss.” Hu would look through the papers on his desk and Zeng sat down. “It’s no secret that our administration will be facing a lot of difficulties and the 5th Plenary Meeting is evidence of that. Jiang’s allies and other corrupt politicians will stop at nothing to prevent our ambitions for the nation; they’re all princelings, they are disgusted by the people. Because of this, before we can go forth with our reforms and our plans, they must be removed from power.” Hu would hand Zeng a piece of paper with multiple names on it. “That is why, Vice-President, I am asking you to use your connections in the Ministry of State Security to investigate these men and women and find anything related to abuse of power and corruption. With such evidence, we’ll have them removed and replaced.” The list would have a total of fifteen names, some names as high as the current government. “This is the only way we’ll be able to move anything forward.”
“You do still have you connections in the State Security?”
