The votes for the 1997 Australia Elections have concluded. Labor Party's Danny Hamilton has won against the Liberal/National coalition government of James Howard. Hamilton's Labor Party won by landslide as they took 19 seats off the coalition whilst only losing 4 in the process. Hamilton has announced his deputy Paige Tomlinson will become the Deputy Prime Minister as he is set to announce other government posts some point within the next few days. |

In a joint press conference between the Commissioners of the NSW Police Service and Victoria Police. Both Commissioners have announced two new separate Strike Force divisions that will target the heart of crime. NSW Police will be creating Strike Force 'Venice' whilst Victoria Police will create Strike Force 'Spider' both groups targets are known to be known Organised Crime Groups that operate within the jurisdiction of both Police Forces. The Commissioners have stated both Strike Forces have all the power they need to ensure peace remains on the streets. Both divisions will only feature around 20 officers who will go through intense training alongside their Armed Response counterparts. |

Victoria Police has reported this morning that the two victims involved two separate shootings have been named as 33 year old Sonny Benevueto and 46 year old Gianfranco Condello. Both males were apart of Italian Ndrangheta gang named the 'Honoured Society' the gang has been operating since the 1960s when Frank Benevueto the father of Sonny created the gang and operated with groups from back home in Italy. Victoria Police Detective Inspector Paul Oakland the lead for the investigation of the murders believed they are linked. "Sonny Benevueto was found dead in the basement of his home whilst Gianfranco Condello was found in the River Gum Creek by a dog walker. Both males were shot dead within a space of a hour. We believe it to be conducted by rival groups to the Honoured Society." stated DI Oakland. "The investigation is in early days however I want to reassure the Melbourne Public that gun crime is not tolerated on the streets and we will arrest those responsible for the double murder." Fears still remain that the double murder of Melbournes two prominent gangsters could lead to a war. |

In the late hours of the afternoon, witnesses reported large numbers of the Federal agents and Washington Police officers arrive outside the Argentinian Embassy. "It's something you'd see from a movie! Like as if it was Harrison Ford all over again!" States one witness. Unconfirmed reports state that US Mashals were involved attempting to conduct an arrest of a suspect. It then led to a chase to outside the Embassy which has led to a standoff between Police and the Embassy. No statement has been so far made by the US Government of the dramatic scenes that are currently occurring. |

In the early hours of the 29th of June, declaration of war was made by the Romanian Government after a series tit for tat incidents in Romania which led to the Romanian Armed Forces moving towards the border between the two countries. The first shot was fired when a suspected Romanian fighter jet was shot down over Moldova. It has then led a battle on the border which Reuters have stated that many of the Romanian Armed Forces have been caught off guard. The incidents between both countries began when the Romanian Government declared Moldovans as Romanians and it led to a protest on the streets of Bucharest which left many dead. Amnesty International have stated 'The tyranny of the Romanian Government needs to end. It is has left many Moldovans in a uncomfortable position and they're fearing for their lives.' So far the Spanish Government have released a statement in regards to the current battle between both nations calling for an end to the incident whilst the Irish Government have stated the same imposing sanctions on the Romanian Government. So far no official statement has been made by the Australian Government or the General Assembly. |

A economic crisis has left Russian reeling from a massive protest on the streets of Moscow. The crisis had sent a massive shockwave through Europe as a number of European countries and corporations have been left affected as the Russia has took the worst hit from the crisis. The Russian Government quickly suspended the printing of the Russian Ruble and called a national emergency in the country. However things have gone bad to worse in Moscow as shots have reportedly been exchanged with Communist sympathizers and Russian soldiers throught the capital. Currently it is unknown how many are reportedly dead, however several nations including the Australian Government have reportedly swiftly placed a Do Not Travel ban on Russia. "It is a deeply worrying situation." Remarked Prime Minister Hamilton during a speech to Parliament. Reuters reporters have further reported speculation of several national representatives at a Hotel in Moscow are currently held under siege by communist forces. No nation have yet to report on this as of yet and the Australian Government have not made any comment in regards to this recent speculation by Reuters reporters. |
