Official Statement

The Foreign Office of The Republic of Ireland (Èire) acting upon the orders of the current administration in Dublin, has decided to announce the closure of its embassy in Belgrade and begin the orderly departure of its officials and staff from Serbia within 42 hours time.

Irish nationals travelling or residing in Serbia are advised to take the necessary precautions so as to ensure their safe departure from their host country and return to Èire as soon as possible. Those choosing to remain on Serbian soil may do so albeit with the understanding that the foreign office and the Government of Èire are not responsible for their fate or any consequences thar may result from their courses of action.

The decision to close the embassy in Belgrade was carried out in response to the Serb government's use of force against those expressing political opinions contrary to those held by the state in addition to growing concerns for the well being of Serbia's Islamic community.

With this in mind, The Foreign Office shall give Serbia's diplomatic personnel a period not exceeding 42 hours to conduct their departure from Dublin and the closure of its embassy and various consulates throughout Èire.

Serb Nationals shall be allowed to come and go as they so please. Those wishing to continue their residency in Èire will be required to register with the office of immigration and customs as well as the Garda Síochána, apart from that all civil liberties currently guaranteed by the constitution of Èire and enjoyed by Serbs residing in Èire shall remain unhindered.

Those engaging in provocative displays or criminal activity shall have their residency declared null and void prior to being given a hearing before the High Court of Èire resulting in either a sentence not exceeding 5 years followed up by deportation or instant deportion from Irish soil. Assets of those responsible shall be seized and withheld prior to deportation. A payment of £30,000 shall be required in order to have said assets restored to their original owner and finally, the offender will be required to sign a document forbidding them to set foot on Irish soil again hereafter. These actions shall be enforced by Garda Síochána along with the Defense Forces of Èire.

Signed
Gerald Monahan, Foreign Minister of Èire

The Canadian Embassy in Belgrade would be more than willing to provide consular assistance to Irish citizens in Serbia with the closure of the Irish Embassy.

The Serbian Embassy in Dublin would burn all classified and compromising documents and smash all of the hard drives of their computers into pieces before leaving the country. The ambassador would be immediately escorted by embassy security to the airport, to ensure that high-ranking personnel doesn't fall into hostile hands. They would take a pair of flights from Dublin to Rome, to Belgrade, to ensure that they would not be tailed or otherwise compromised by any malicious actors, attempts at espionage or assassination, or otherwise anything that might compromise high-ranking personnel of Serbia's foreign affairs ministry. Other Serbian embassy staff in Dublin were given 24 hours to depart from the country.
