Ambassador William Stewart would arrive to the Global Affairs Canada man offices in Ottawa along with two Diplomatic Security Agents who were in charge of his protection. He would present his credentials and, once he was brought to the appropriate office or introduced to Minister Tian, he would offer to shake his hand and give a friendly smile.

"Minister Tian, thank you for seeing me on such short notice. I hope that I didn't cause any inconvenience," he said.
