DEPLOYMENT ORDERS
1280px-Flag_of_the_United_States_Navy.svg.png

CONTEXT

The success of Operation Trident led the Seretary of The Navy ordered the Chief of Naval Operations to coordinate a more extensive global deployment of American submarines. To ensure constant readiness, the Chief of Naval Operations created "Blue" and "Gold" crews who could switch off at port to ensure that a submarine could, if need be, go straight back into service. This large-scale deployment of American submarine forces was intended to also act as an exercise in large-scale coordination by the Navy on a global footing. President Sinclair signed off on the operation and gave it the green light to move forward. Once change, or rather two, that the President made to the deployment was to have two submarines near the coast of Australia so that he could tell the Australians that they were there and also so that they could be used to deter foreign adversaries should they try to intimidate Australia again. The submarines and the Blue crews prepared for deployment, which was not publicized.
