OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE |
ENCRYPTED MESSAGE |
TO: Lawrence Adams, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland ( Jamie )
FROM: Jackson Fitzgerald, Secretary of State of the United States of America
Secretary Adams,
Best regards,
Jackson Fitzgerald
Secretary of State
Secretary Adams,
The White House has asked that I pass along the condolences of the First Family and the American People for any loss of life at the bombing of the British Embassy. The failure of the Thai government to protect our embassies is outrageous. If the Thai government allows it, the FBI and Diplomatic Security Service will send investigators to Bangkok to assist in the investigation of the bombing. In the meantime, I have issued a "Do Not Travel" for Thailand and my office has urged all Americans to leave Thailand due to these recent attacks against three different western embassies.
Do not hesitate to contact my office if there is anything that the Federal Government can do to assist British civilians or your government in the aftermath of these attacks.

Best regards,
Jackson Fitzgerald
