[Vietnam:] Call to Chinese Ministry of Defense

Despite the recent inflammatory comments made by the General Assemblywoman Linh Mach, the Minister of Defense, Khang Nguyen, would call his Chinese counterpart. Constantly at odds due to his consistent leanings towards CIS rather than independence, Minister Nguyen would, unfortunately, be nearing the end of his term in office. However, he would be calling in order to discuss the current Taiwanese actions taken in the Pacific as well as to discuss Assemblywoman Mach's comments.

The call would be taken by the Minister of National Defence of China, Long Fen, where it would private and encrypted on his side.

"Long Fen Speaking. Who's this?"

"Khang Nguyen," He'd reply. "The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Vietnam."

He'd close his laptop that had the Taiwanese declaration in front of him.

"Mr. Fen/Long (Traditionally, Asian names have the last name go first. Long and Fen are both traditional Chinese surnames), I wish to discuss with you about Taiwan."

"Well, Mr. Fen," Nguyen would reply smoothly. "They did release a rather... troubling declaration earlier. Vacate the Spratly Islands for face potential hostile actions. What do you say to that?"

Khang would raise an eyebrow. He'd look over at his assistant, Julie Trinh, who would shrug.

"Well then, if you do not have a comment on that, please extend to your government that President Ngo apologizes profusely for the comments made by the General Assembly Mission to Vietnam. She is... as unfortunate as it may be... an opportune lady and was looking to curry favor with the Australians in order to build faith within the State Ministry. But, she is no more than a minor diplomat with no power and no access to any of the classified information that she was throwing around. Everything that she mentioned is mere... hearsay. President Ngo has asked me to inform your government that she has been reprimanded for this publicity stunt and we would like to formally extend to you a gesture of goodwill."

"Lets get on to the facts shall we? Your Ambassador, said the following..and I quote;

But, allow me to assure you that we have... planned for this. Of course, this information is classified so I don't wish to give too many details, but President Ngo has asked the Ministry of Defense to... wargame this out. For example, six battalions of airborne infantry in Europe, ready to drop on CIS-held territories and secure it in a matter of days. A regiment of airborne ready to make the drop on Hainan and three divisions of mechanized infantry, ready to storm across the border to the underbelly of China. Teams of ARVN Rangers, ready to cross into Thailand under the cover of night and take advantage of an already crippled government. We plan for everything.

Do you release how big of a threat to national security that simple comment is? Why is Vietnam planning an attack on China? When China hasn't done anything to cause this provocation? Including Thailand, that as been the most peaceful of nations in Asia in recent times? There is more;

I find that in the coming days, we may very well see it that the islands in the Indian Ocean will go back to France very soon if France... and by extension, us, by the negotiation game very carefully. 6,000 Vietnamese Airborne are waiting for the green light to make the jump onto Alexandria. What goes for your plan of deployment.

Responding to Australia's "But do you think that might be a bit too far" said:
I'm not quite certain what is too far at this point, Minister,The CIS has shown me fairly little evidence that they will rush into the abyss after their allies, no matter from what I can tell. China sits on it's hands. Thailand watches the situation with horror. Brazil does... what it does. We have all these fears of the CIS. Why don't we end the issue now?

Strike said:
The time to strike at them and end the threat of the Argentinians is now. A decisive naval battle to protect our posterity and ensure that a second coming of the Japanese Empire does not happen.

How are we not to see, that these comments are for a possible strike on China? Especially the last one. She even speaks your name and your President. This is a clear provocaton towards the sovereignty of China and its Allies. Tell me what as china done since your new goverment took over, to be a target of your fear mongering?"

"Switch to a Communist regime?" The Minister of Defense would suggest over the phone. "Linh is but a low-ranking diplomat... a nobody. Anyone can incur the President's name and the Minister of Defense, but do they have the power to actually act on it? Do they have the power to deploy troops? That power rests with the President and the National Congress... and he has said that Mach spoke out of turn and has been reprimanded. There is no attack or strike on China, according to him... and he is an honorable man."
