Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyễn Mạnh Cầm from his office would call via an encrypted telephone Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstyantyn Ivanovych Gryshchenko. Sitting patiently in his office chair for a pickup. He hoped the information that was provided to him was up to date, but Cầm didn't hold his breath. With the situation in Russia having fallen through it was up to him to pick up the pieces and find diplomatic entries elsewhere. The Republic of Ukraine would make a good start.
