Harare Riots Suppressed

ZBC.png

Violence erupted on the streets of Harare today as rioters attempted to disturb the peace of the capital. The unruly crowd, according to reports, began its march in the outskirts of Harare in the districts sympathetic to elements of Zimbabwean society that have sought to undermine the efforts of the current administration run by President Robert Mugabe. In the face of the crowd's increasingly violent disposition, and the concerns of the local community, local police units were deployed to curb the violence, and arrest the instigators. At the time of reporting, said efforts are underway, and sources within the police force inform ZBC that their efforts are proving to be highly successful. a high-ranking official within the police gave the following statement to our reporter at the scene.

"The rule of law and order within Zimbabwe was threatened today by political agitators seeking to sow division within our great society. However, the bravery and courage of the Zimbabwe Republic Police ensured that their efforts were in vain. Even now, they are gallantly pushing back the enemies of the people that wish to undermine the progress that has been made by the collective effort of the people, and President Mugabe's administration. We shall continue to stand firm against any attempt to subvert the constitutionally mandated structures that bring stability and prosperity to our nation."

The Australian Department of Immigration and Ethnic Affairs would announce 10,000 additional Protection visa (subclass 866) and Refugee visa (subclass 200) places to Zimbabweans wishing to flee the country to Australia. They would be encouraged to contact the Australian Embassy in Harare to secure their visa and to organise flights to Australia, with Qantas operating flights from Johannesburg-O.R. Tambo International Airport to Perth and Sydney. Qantas will also announce it was organising special charter flights from Perth to Harare with at least three a week to evacuate Australian citizens in Zimbabwe and Zimbabwean's offered refugee or protection visas.

Upon being informed that The Australians were offering support to Zimbabweans in fleeing the country, a formal ban on the usage of Australian visas was declared by the Zimbabwean Ministry of Home Affairs.

"Due to the interference of Australia in Zimbabwean internal affairs, the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe has been ordered to refuse to recognise the validity of all tickets, flights, and visas that have the final intended destination of Australia. Further steps will be taken to respond to this act of domestic interference by a white foreign power, and we have put forward a formal complaint to the ambassador in Harare expressing our outrage at this blatant assault on our rights as a sovereign nation."

The Australian Government would be shocked at the announcement of Zimbabwe. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade will issue an announcement.

"Zimbabwe has no authority to refuse Australian visas, Australian visas can only be refused by the Australian Government. We urge all Zimbabweans and Australians who wish to flee the country to Australia to do so via South Africa. Visa applications can be lodged to the Australian Embassy in Harare but visas will be issued to Zimbabweans once they arrive in South Africa. They will be met by Australian Embassy staff at Johannesburg-O.R. Tambo International Airport who will issue the visas and place them in Zimbabwean passports there. This will allow free passage out of Zimbabwe without the presence of an Australian visa in the passports or with tickets bound to Australia. Australian citizens wishing to leave Zimbabwe should do so via Johannesburg as flights will no longer be available directly between Zimbabwe and Australia. The Qantas route which operates Harare to Perth will now be rerouted to Johannesburg and additional capacity will be introduced on the Johannesburg to Perth and Sydney routes. A 'Do Not Travel' advice has now been put on Zimbabwe."

The public announcement by the Australian government stating their alternative arrangements as to how Zimbabweans could flee the country was quickly seized upon by the Ministry of Home Affairs, who swiftly imposed their own counter-measures.

"Due to Australia's continued attempts to interfere with the citizenry of Zimbabwe. The Ministry of Home Affairs has declared that the land border Zimbabwe shares with South Africa is to be closed. While individuals seeking entry from the South African side are welcome, Zimbabweans are prohibited from leaving the country via that route. Furthermore, all flights from Zimbabwe's international and domestic airports that terminate in South Africa are, henceforth, cancelled. The Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe has been notified, and all visas, tickets, and other documentation permitting travel to South Africa for Zimbabwean citizens will no longer be recognised as valid."

"The continued naked aggression by Australia has made it necessary for us to temporarily close all land borders and flights headed out of Zimbabwe. We shall continue to stand steadfast and strong in the face of this unprovoked attack on our sovereignty. We also wish to announce that, as of now, the Australian Embassy situated at 1 Green Close, Borrowdale Rd, Harare, is no longer welcome on Zimbabwean soil. The Zimbabwe Republic Police have been dispatched to evict them from the premises and ensure that they are ejected from the country."

As the vast new round of restrictions was announced via public media channels, a group of Zimbabwean police gathered outside of the Australian embassy and, as declared, attempted to storm the building to arrest the Australian workers within.

The French Government would be righteously indignant at the sheer disregard for the established rule of international law - especially that protecting diplomats and embassies - and would say as much in a released statement. The Embassy in Zimbabwe would be put on high alert but would open itself to Australian, Brazilian, and Zimbabwean nationals looking for asylum in these dangerous situations. It would also warn Zimbabwe of the consequences of continued aggression towards the international community, and the consequences should it act in similarly aggressive ways towards France.

Furthermore, The French Government would note that their threats were not something to be taken lightly, and would point to their recent response to an invasion by Belgium as an example of the results of such insolence.

Within the Embassy's Ground, the news would reach the embassy of the Imminent arrival of Zimbabwean Police forces, and so, the Embassy would activate its security protocols, Security Personnel would arm themselves with Imbel M964 Battle Rifles from within the Embassy, Security personnel would stand in the limits of the Embassy's grounds, standing guard as they awaited the arrival of the Police Force and were ready to receive any citizens who wished to take refuge in the Embassy.

Inside the Embassy, the Embassy staff would hide behind barricades created by the various pieces of Furniture within the embassy, some of the security personnel within the building would stand guard at the barricaded windows, weapons ready.

The Belgian Embassy in Harare would be placed on high alert with heightened security measures in place to utilise lethal force against personnel from the Zimbabwe Republican Police. FN FNCs and protectuve gear would be issued with a parimeter and line of fire set up from the ground floor up. An FN MAG would be placed on the top balcony of the embassy with three belts serviced and at the ready. The embassy would request the assistance of Brazil and Australia on standby in case things became untenable over the course of the next 42 hours.

The statement made by The French Government was received with equally self-righteous indignance by the Zimbabwean administration.

"The actions of The French show that they too, like The Belgians, have yet to recognise that they are blighted with the sickness that is whiteness. They stare down with disgust at us from their ivory towers and sneer at how they have been proven wrong time and again in regards to their racist beliefs that a black person can succeed in life. Like all racists, they band together, as we can see with their show of support for their equally racist neighbour, Belgium. Their threats hold no weight here. They are a paper tiger that will fold at the first sign of resistance. The French can consider themselves warned. If they go through with their desire to interfere with Zimbabwean domestic affairs, then they will be treated just like the rest of the aggressors, like Belgium, Brazil, and Australia."

As predicted, ZRP squad cars pulled up close by to the embassies of Belgium and Brazil and the occupants immediately cordoned off the streets. Anyone attempting to drive or walk by the embassy was stopped, searched, and checked. Any Zimbabweans were turned away, while foreign nationals were permitted to continue on their way into the cordoned off zones surrounding the two embassies. No attempt was made to engage either embassy's security staff. Unlike the Australian embassy, no order had been given to assault them yet, so they kept their vigil, but made sure to also watch their backs, which had Belgian and Brazilians guns pointed at them.

One of the Guards watched..growing annoyed by the treatment of the citizens before yelling out in English "Hey! Is that how you treat your Citizens you-" Suddenly another security personnel would come over, blocking his mouth, telling him to shut it in Portuguese.

Some of the other Security Personnel would quickly bring the Brazilian and Belgian Nationals into the Embassy's Grounds, being brought inside the Embassy where they'd be relayed with the Information that had been announced.

Some of the Guards would glare at the Police.

A pair of Zimbabwean officers heard the security guard and smirked at how riled up he was. They decided to play on that by having a conversation that was "conveniently" loud enough to be overheard.

"Did you hear about The Australian Embassy? I heard that it's being raided right now."

"Shit, really? Damn, I wish I was there where the action is."

"It'll be fine. I'm sure we'll get the order to take these pricks down soon. We might even be able to get some target practice in while doing so."

"Looking forward to it."

The pair then began laughing amongst themselves jovially, while cracking inappropriate jokes about how they imagined the heads of Portuguese guards would explode when shot.

"Excuse me? You are insulting security personnel of a foreign country, watch your tongue...Scumbags" The Officer mumbled the final part in Portuguese, the Security personnel glaring at the two officers.

One of the officers, upon hearing the news of the Australian Embassy, would walk into the Brazilian one to relay the Head of the Embassy about what had occurred.

Through Encrypted lines, the Embassy maintained close contact with the Brazilian Government. Who monitored the situation closely.

The security detail's FN MAG team on roof of the embassy careful chambered the first in a series of rounds from the belt of his magazine staring down one of the officers outside tbe embassy's walls looking intently through the iron sights of his machine gun. He radioed into the Brazilians: "keep your eyes peeled, hostile forces might try to provoke a reaction from us or the Australians...we'll stay in touch."

"Don't worry!" One of the police officers shouted back. "You won't be insulted for much longer!"

The officer then pointed his fingers at the guard in the form of a finger-gun and let them flick upwards, as if they had fired a shot and the recoil had caused the muzzle to climb. This was followed by more laughter and joking amongst the police standing guard.

The security personnel were having enough...but still kept their cool, ignoring the 2 troublemakers who tried to get on their nerves. The troops within the building would aim at the police officers, their weapons locked and loaded if anything funny was attempted. The Head of Security of the Embassy would respond to the Belgian Radio, looking out the barricaded window: "What is the status over there?"

Information regarding the embassy blockades would begin streaming into the Dutch diplomatic mission in Harare. While the ambassador had received assurances from the Zimbabwean government that the integrity of the embassy would be respected, the ambassador had authorised the security personnel to take precautionary measures.

The five man security detail assigned to the embassy would put on bulletproof vests and carry additional magazines for their Walther P99Q NL sidearms. An emergency hotline to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands would also be established in order to keep the government in The Hague up to date on the situation in Harare.

The Belgians looked around and responded accordingly: "um...well it seems as though we have a light hostile presence outside of our parameter but other than that our defenses, personnel, and staff are in good hands. The embassy quarter master has finished stock and inventory a few hours ago confirming an ammunition supply of roughly a week. As long as things don't rupture this very instant we should alright."
