At high noon, Prime Minister Ó Cuiman and Foreign Minister Monahan would be driven to the Norwegian embassy in Dublin escorted by a detachment of Garda personnel who would be entrusted with their security. the intention of the visit was to send their condolences on behalf of the Irish people with regards to the death of Norway's ambassador to Serbia after a vicious artillery strike.

The embassy guards, who were active-duty Norwegian Army soldiers, saluted the Irish Prime Minister and of course admitted him and Foreign Minister Monahan inside. The Norwegian ambassador to Ireland, Dr. Jon Agnor, quickly made his way from his office to the entryway of the embassy once he heard the Irish Prime Minister was there.

"Prime Minister Ó Cuiman, Foreign Minister Monahan, to what do I owe this pleasure?" he said as he offered to shake their hands.
"Please come sit down in my office, can I get either of you something to drink?" he asked.

"Your excellency, Mr. Agnor I persume. Me and my prime minister have come here to offer you our condolences for the loss of your colleague and fellow countryman in Serbia." Foreign Minister Monahan said in a polite let solemn manner.

The men were each brought a cup of tea and a shot of Jameson. The Prime Minister requested a cup of tea as well, and one was brought for him as well. He offered the men each a seat in front of his desk, and he afterwards sat behind his desk.

"On behalf of His Majesty's government and the people of Norway, I thank you for your condolences, gentlemen. It was very nice of you both to brave the weather outside and actually walk here. That's the first time a Norwegian ambassador has ever been... hopefully it's the last as well," he said in a solemn voice.

The two Irishmen thanked the ambassador and the embassy staff members for the hospitality as the tea and whiskey was placed at a spot nearby.

"You are most welcome, your excellency. These are trying times for Norway, Europe, and Western Civilisation....the least we could do is pour out our hearts bring forth sympathy and honour. Though our respective governments don't necessarily agree with one another I think it is safe to say that the actions of Serbia were of maleintent and thus provocative."

"What they did to Pristina was reprehensible. Personally I think we did the right thing. The special forces saved our civilians and we retaliated only against Serbian military targets... Yes, our governments don't agree on some things, but I like to think most of us, your government included, can be fair and decent when it comes to things like this, and you've shown it here," he said, sipping from his tea again.

"Agreed, though I do not see any good coming out of military intervention for my own country, Norway, and so forth...granted the special forces did a marvelous job and Serbian concentrations of military targets received their oats." Monahan said politely before sipping his tea once more in between discussions. "Your Excellency, My Prime Minister has brought to my attention that we must depart within the next few minutes, we trust that discussions between Ireland and Norway shall continue well into the near future. Godspeed!"

Before leaving with the Prime Minister, Monahan would give the ambassador a copy of St. Patrick's Confession and a bottle of Redbreast Whiskey.

"Thank you both for stopping by, the Kingdom of Norway greatly appreciates it. I'll pass your kind words onto Oslo," the ambassador said. "Godspeed to you as well." The ambassador walked the two Irish gentlemen out, and thanked them for the gifts. After they left, he would close the door, pour himself a small glass of Redbreast, and start reading his copy of St. Patrick's Confession.

"Your most welcome, your excellency....have a pleasant day." Monahan said to the ambassador cheerfully. The two Irishmen would hop into a motorcade and disappear back to their respective quarters for reflection and relaxation after a most taxing day. It seemed as though, Ireland might've through her own children found a friend worthy of her trust and hospitality, a fitting end.
