Dear President Gore and Prime Minister Evans, The Government of France has requested the assistance of Australia in being able to maintain law and order within their Pacific possessions of New Caledonia, French Polynesia and Wallis and Futuna, as they are all full members of the South Pacific Forum we have obliged. As your territories are also members of the South Pacific Forum and your central governments maintain observer status, we are opening the invitation to the United States and the United Kingdom to provide a small amount of forces to the Regional Assistance Mission to Pacific France. As long as your forces can make their way to either Townsville or Brisbane, we will ensure they have full logistics and transportation across the Pacific as well as lodging. This would be an excellent opportunity to enhance our tri-nation defence interoperability and relationship. This message is more aimed towards the United States, with a substantial amount of forces already in the Pacific, but if the United Kingdom is willing and able to, given the unfolding situation in Metropolitan France, we would be more than happy to accomodate them. Good Afternoon,

Thank you for making us aware and whilst we appreciate the invitation and the benefit of working together, the situation surrounding France is not something we are eager to participate in from a military perspective and think this should be best handled internally.

The United Kingdoms involvement is limited to repatriation flights that will see those who wish to leave, leaving safely with a separate emphasis on diplomatic staff.

We will support the French Republic in these trying times where possible but foreign troops on the ground is something we would consider counter-productive.
