After making sure his line was encrypted and secure, the secretary of the North American Division of the Deparment of International Relations, Arnaldo José Müller, would call the Mexican Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrand.

The call would be properly routed and encrypted to the Minister’s secure phone. He would answer, “hello?”

The Secretary would smile "Greetings Mr Ebrand, I hope you're doing well. I'm Arnaldo Müller, one of the secretaries of the Department of International Relations of the Empire of Brazil, I Wanted to know if you have time to discuss relations between both of our nations."

“Of course, we are always willing to discuss such things, especially with a nation in such proximity.”

"Marvelous, I believe we can start with trade, would Mexico be interested in a trade agreement with Brazil?"
