A call would be placed to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The call would be encrypted on the Polish side. Once answered a young male voice would begin speaking once able.

"This is the Min...Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We are seeking a secured line with whomever is available to speak with a delegate from Poland. Thank you"

With Minister Gryshchenko already on a call with the Spanish, the Polish call would be patched through to the Secretary of Ukrainian Affairs in Eastern Europe. "Hello Minister, this is Anatoly Zlenko. We're pleased to hear the economic crisis in Poland is stabilizing. I can assure you this line is secure," he spoke truthfully. "I hope Polish sentiment towards its sibling state of Ukraine have not changed?"

"Greetings, Minister Zlenko. We are pleased to see that the economic crisis has not effected our sister nation of Ukraine as roughly as it has Poland. But we are turning it around. But no. That is why I have been asked to call you. To ensure Polish-Ukrainian relations continue to prosper. With the recent political changes within Poland, we also wanted to ensure that Ukraine's opinion of Poland have not changed, either."

"Good, wonderful. Ukraine has been facing her own struggles, but our administration has not changed its foreign policy towards Poland, nor has the fraternal love of of the Ukrainian people diminished towards our Polish brothers."

He paused. "It's actually very good that you called. Before your change of government we discussed a state visit to Poland. I believe the original invitation was for President Yushchenko, who is currently unable to travel. However, Prime Minister Yanukovych's visit to Thailand is scheduled to end soon..."

"We are happy to hear that. The King and Chancellery will be happy to hear that. As for a state visit from Ukraine, we would be most welcoming to Prime Minister Yanukovych to visit whenever he can. As always, Ukrainians are always welcome within Poland. Especially if it promotes good relations between our two governments. I do have a few questions that we can fax over to you to get answered. It would allow us to establish an itinerary for the visit once a date has been establishing. Once the Prime Minister's visit is over, hopefully we can set up a state visit for the Polish Prime Minister to visit Ukraine."

Papers could be heard shuffling as an aid dashed in and out of Zlenko's office. "The political climate in Ukraine is tense. I'm sure you've already heard, and we..." he shifted in his chair. "We should be transparent with Poland. The Prime Minister cannot come home. That is why we made this request. Now, I have just received notes suggesting a grand state visit might not give off the best optics."

"Ukraine needs him close, he is our legally elected head of government. Russia and Belarus are not options. Posting him there would only increase the power of the rhetoric some of our officials are using. Knowing the turbulence Ukraine is currently undergoing, would Poland still be willing to host Prime Minister Yanukovych on a more muted visit?"

As soon as the Minister heard that the Prime Minister could not return home, he quickly scribbled a note on a piece of paper before walking to the door and handing it to his aid. 'Get General Petelicki here.' He wanted the new commander of the Special Operations Branch to be read in on what was being discussed in case the minister required additional protection. The door could be heard slamming shut as the Minister walked back to his desk.

"Apologies for the interruption. But yes. Poland would be more than willing to host the Prime Minister for a vacation. I have asked my aid to get ahold of one of our planning experts for state vacations, I do hope that is acceptable." The Foreign Minister hoped his Ukrainian counterpart would understand what he was trying to convey subtly. The Polish Foreign Minister concluded that the Prime Minister's life could be in danger do to the suspected coup happening within Ukraine.

"We would just need to know where he would be arriving from and what time. We can have a driver pick him up from the airport along with any family members accompanying him. Do you expect any issues with the flight over?"

"That would be perfect. The Prime Minister is currently in Thailand, he can land wherever you think is most scenic for this vacation," he said slowly, hoping he was interpreting the offer correctly. "He'll fly commercial, since this is a personal visit and not officially state sponsored. His wife and children are not with him. With these new school regulations it will be difficult for them to go with, but we'll see what we can do on our end and keep you posted."

He would look towards his office door to ensure it was still tightly shut. "I'll speak with some travel agents. Good agents. I can't extend this invitation myself, but I think they might be interested in hosting Poland's most elite on a discreet vacation of their own. Again, I'll have to speak with these friends first."

"What other information can I give you?"

"Commercial is a great option. There should be a few flights available to land at the Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport. We would just need to know date and time of arrival to insure a driver is available to pick him up. Actually let me go ahead and put someone on standby that way one will be available even at a moment's notice. Wouldn't want him to be stuck out there in harms way due to a last minute notification." There was a knock on the door as a man in military uniform was let into the office. The General must have already been in the Chancellery to have gotten there so fast.

"It seems one of our planning experts was available immediately. Here, let me pass the call over so he can all the information he needs for the Prime Minister's vacation."

After handing the phone over to the General, the Foreign Minister wrote down a note that explained they were going to be protecting the Prime Minister due to unforeseen circumstances.

"This is Igor," the polish man's voice sounding like a bass drum mixed with a gravel mixer. "I hear I am going to plan the Prime Minister's stay within Poland. Will he be travelling alone or will he be travelling with others such as family, friends or Security? How is his health? Hopefully he hasn't picked up any nasty tagalongs during his romp through Thailand. Some bugs are hard to get rid of. Especially if one were to throw it into the river. I hear that's what problems on these new computers are called. Bugs. Since this is a private vacation, I'm sure he will need a safe place to stay in. I already have one in mind. Embassy's aren't always the nicest places to stay in. And do not worry about length of stay in Poland. As Prime Minister to one of Poland's nearest friends, he will be welcome here for as long as needed. Which, hopefully, won't be long."

The gravelly bass of the General's voice would point to a lifestyle of someone who smokes and drinks too much but also has a penchant for shouting. A lot of shouting.

"My friend here says you might be able to plan a vacation for some of the elite of Poland. As one of the chief vacation planners for the Monarchy, I know more than a few of these elite who would not mind visiting Poland."

"Igor, hello. Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport it is! The Prime Minister will depart from Thailand today. We'll make sure he's checked for bugs and viruses. You're right, we don't want him bringing anything harmful to Poland. His family... I'm not sure if they would fall under the travel ban the Minister of Defence has placed on our politicians. You can expect no change in the food shipments we promised in that trade agreement though. I'm told we were looking to send more by truck to Dorohusk--but you're the expert. What would be a good market for such a high value shipment?"

He paused. "Yes, might. Again, I'm not a travel agent, but I think Lviv works best as a first destination stop. It's a shame the MoD isn't allowing foreigners to enter Ukraine right now. I used to go backpacking in the forests around there--very nice and secluded."

"That is unfortunate to hear about the Prime Minister's family. Hopefully they will be able to join him on the next vacation. I will have a driver awaiting the Prime Minister when he lands in Gdańsk." 'Igor' wrote a note down and slid it across the table to Minister. 'Divert aircraft to military air base. State it is due to emergency on the airstrip in Gdańsk.' "We will just need his flight number and airline to insure we are not late in picking him up."

'Igor' listened to the explanation about the food shipments and more being sent by truck through the border crossing of Dorohusk. It was a good spot for an exchange of goods between friends. Especially a highly valued food truck. "Dorohusk is a good market there. There is a legend in the area that there is a creature that stalks the night there, stealing women and children. They say if you drive the 816 south at midnight you can see it stalking from the former Palace there. But those are just old wives tales and I digress. Dorohusk is certainly an acceptable place to pass through the border at."

"Indeed. I know that several of the elite love a good hike. Some of them have just finished a hike over the Tatra Mountains. They are eager to attempt a much flatter trip. If I remember correctly, isn't there the ruins of a church near there? The higher ups I am thinking about would love to visit that. They are very big on history. Especially churches of the Mother Church."
