We believe that the nation of Egypt is an example of a great African nation, and we want to strengthen our ties with you. We think that there is much we ca discuss as our domestic situation gets better and better every year. More people are coming out of poverty in our nation every year than in years past. Our people might be still poor, but we are still booming as we try to increase our business productivity. We think that as we solve the domestic situation at home, we need to solve the foreign situation out of it. We need to further relations with the other African nations, and we want to start with your beautiful country. We would like to increase relations your nation, perhaps a meeting between leaders?

To Sadiki Aswad, the Egyptian minister of foreign affairs and International Trade.
We at Ethiopia is rather friendly to the foreign international leaders, especially the leaders in our home continent of Africa. We take pride in improving our relations, as it is one of Zenawi's biggest goals during his current term. He hopes to improve African relations through trade and diplomatic proceedings. However, we are highly suspicious of South Africa's actions. Seeing as they are prosecuting Black Africans who is our largest demographic, we will be keeping an eye on the troubled nation. However, all of the other nations we have had discussions with has been nothing but pleasant, including the Ukrainian government. We are rather pan-african with our foreign policy.

Minister, We see that you have grand and ambitious plans for Ethiopia, many of which could be compatible with the Arab Republic of Egypt's own plans. This could facilitate the way towards a better integration of both our nations, both politically as well as commercially speaking. My Government shares your concerns regarding South Africa. We are almost on the turn of the Century, and we still have to endure racist minority Governments. In our understanding, Botha's future is doomed to isolation. However, Egypt maintains a foreign policy of neutrality, while we do condemn the south african policies and will not engage in any trade or political exchange of any kind, we will not condemn or sanction them publicly and officially. As for your nations relations with other countries, we are happy to hear that you have a positive link with Ukraine, a nation with whom we also have a lot of common interests and actual political and commercial talks.
