KINGDOM OF NORWAY
MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
SUBJECT: Diplomatic Relations
RECIPIENT: The Foreign Ministry of The High Kingdom of France (@Logan )
SENDER: Rolf Esmark, Ambassador of Norway to France
SECURITY: ENCRYPTED

To Whom it May Concern,

The French people have withstood a number of unsuccessful administrations and outright failures in very recent times. This instability and the loose-handed way of doing things brought on by these unsuccessful governors has been very damaging for France. These people, and their successive governments, were weeds growing in a fertile field. Somehow, perhaps by divine intervention, these weeds managed to be fruitful. Their end meant the beginning of a new and permanent French state, which in many ways is very old. I welcome this new return to the old ways, as does His Majesty's Government. It is the opinion of myself that France has returned to its rightful state of august. I wish the French government the best in these coming weeks as the transition becomes complete. I hope that we can arrange a meeting as soon as possible, to further discuss what goals this new - and yet old - government has for France.

Best Regards,

Rolf Esmark
Ambassador of Norway to France

Sir or Madame,

I humbly must offer my gratitude for your well-wishing to our government, and likewise am hoping the Kingdom of Norway continues its state of prosperity and freedom. Myself, the Chancliere, or an officer of the Foreign Ministry would be delighted to arrange a meeting at your next convenience, as our nations do have much to talk about.

Allow, Mr. Ambassador, the expression of my sincere considerations,

Le Prince Souverain de France
Henri Severin

A secure response was sent to the French Ministry of foreign Affairs which indicated the Norwegian Ambassador would be happy to meet with the Sovereign Prince, or whomever was available, to discuss the future relationship between France and Norway. The message also stated a time and place, which was within three days of when the original message was sent. If this was accepted, then the Norwegian Ambassador would travel to the designated meeting place in Paris from the Norwegian embassy via private car. With him was a single member of the Norwegian Security Service, who was assigned to his protection detail. The Norwegian ambassador was wearing his best black three-piece suit, a white shirt, and a dark blue tie. His white hair was perfectly combed, making him look like an American newsman or businessman, and his black shoes sparkled from being freshly polished. He waited outside of the meeting place to be allowed in. He had with him his official identification as an ambassador, as well as a briefcase containing some paperwork and a small gift.

THe Prince-Sovereign would greet the Norwegian Ambassador at the Hotel Matignon. He would don the uniform of the newly formed Military Order of Ste Therese of Lisieux, which would look similar to that of the Order of Malta, except a deep blue instead of red, and with the Maltese Cross medal being replaced with one of a Pink Rose, the Military Order's symbol. His uniform would be mostly absent of gaudy awards as he has earned none, it would be complete with a finely-shined pair of black boots, maintained to near-perfection.

"Mr Ambassador, I welcome you to my Paris residence and beg your pardon for the tardiness of my answer to your message, the French government's realignment leaves much to be done.. As we proceed, may we treat you to anything to drink, perhaps Tea or Water?"

The Prince-Sovereign and his attache would lead the ambassador to an office that had been rearranged to serve as a receiving chamber.

"Your Majesty," the ambassador said, followed by a polite bow. "Thank you for granting me this audience, I greatly appreciate it. Some tea would be wonderful," he said as they went to the private meeting room. Once inside, he'd waiting for the Prince-Sovereign to sit before he would. If asked how he wanted his tea, he would politely decline any milk or sugar.

"I presume that this has been a very tiring number of days for Your Majesty, so far?" he asked, before briefly sipping his tea. "I hope that you're holding up well?" he asked.

An aid would bring them each a cup of tea as they began to sit down. "It's not been as much tiring as it has been an exercise in adaptation, France is a large country, and both her King and her institutions must change to accommodate her varied and unique people groups. But yes, I've been holding up quite well, all things considered."

"I'm happy to hear that," the ambassador said before sipping his tea. "I have a few things I would like to discuss, time permitting... But I suppose this would be the most pressing, at the moment: Is there any action going to be taken in Iraq by the French armed forces? If so, is there any way that we can assist? Norway is presently part of the coalition retaliating against the Iraqi government," he said.

"Our military, unfortunately, is ill-prepared to respond militarily to the situation in Iraq, though we have been looking for an international partner who will be capable of, at the very least, assessing the situation regarding our embassy's diplomatic corps, I don't wish to presume, or ask too much, but France does require intelligence as to their current status."

"I could possibly have this brought up to the coalition. At the very least, if it comes down to an invasion of Iraq, our armed forces would be more than willing to provide protection and safe transport to anyone with a French passport... Oh, before I forget," he said. Out of his briefcase, the ambassador pulled out the gift from his briefcase. It was an expensive bottle of whiskey that was distilled in Norway, with a blue and red ribbon tied around it. "This is a gift from His Majesty the King, he sends his best regards," Rolf said.

"There's also another detail I wanted to bring up... A member of the extended Royal Family has been living on a French territory, in the Caribbean, for a few years now. He is Prince Ingvar, the brother of King Oskar. The Prince has been living in the Isles Des Saintes legally since I believe.. 1993. I thought that there may be no better person to ask but you - is it still acceptable for him to live there? I ask this because sometimes when governments changes, policies do as well."

"Also, if I may add, would you allow the Norwegian Royal Air Force to fly troops through French airspace? This would be exceptionally helpful to us," he said.

"Thank you," The Sovereign said as he accepted the bottle, "I trust you to return my regards, as well as a hope we can meet someday soon."

"France has no problem allowing a dignified member of the Norwegian royal family to take residence on one of our territories, we welcome anyone, so long as they peacefully abide by the law. Likewise, we are willing to allow your air force safe passage through our airspace, as France generally has a policy of allowing travel through our airspace for any purpose except hostility against the Francophonie, or our neighbors and allies."

"Thank you, Your Majesty. His Majesty's government will be very appreciative of that, and I'm sure that Prince Ingvar will be thankful as well. I hope that Norway and France can foster a special relationship together going forward. Are there any special foreign policy objectives that your government will have moving forward?" he asked.

"No foreign policy objectives that are particularly special compared to what is expected of France. I'm personally planning to increase the cohesiveness, cooperation, and ties between the Francophone nations, as well as to maintain a certain level of stability and balance in Europe, but as far as overarching plans such as alliances, geopolitical agendas, and the like, I prefer to see how the international situation pans out before France makes any major moves."
