"I understand. Your Majesty, thank you for your time. If there is anything that you, or your government, need from Norway, please let me know. I will be here in Paris at the embassy, of course. I look forward to working with you and your government. I'm sure that France is more than capable of defending itself and training its own armed forces, but if there's anything we can do to help in this opening stages of your armed forces, I'm sure we would be happy to lend a helping hand... Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity," he said.
If there was nothing else to discuss, the ambassador would depart back to the Norwegian embassy. @Logan
An Army officer would run into the room, whispering into the Prince's ear before leaving quickly.
"Before you leave, I find it prudent to inform you that I've just received word of Belgian troops crossing the border between our nations, entering the Hauts de France. My own military high command is deploying our own force in response. I would personally request your government put out travel warnings regarding both my country and Belgium, as I would like to avoid civilian casualties as much as possible."
"That... is very concerning, Your Majesty. I will be sure to inform my government, assuming that they don't already know. Please contact me if there's anything that Norway can do to help... Norway closed its embassy in Belgium many months ago, but I will be sure to recommend a travel advisory for Belgium and France... Thank you for sharing this information," he said. With that, he departed back to the embassy and securely contacted the Foreign Minister of Norway to inform him of what he had just learned.
KINGDOM OF NORWAY MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
SUBJECT: Belgian Incursion
RECIPIENT: The Foreign Ministry of The High Kingdom of France (@Logan )
SENDER: Rolf Esmark, Ambassador of Norway to France
SECURITY: ENCRYPTED
To Whom it May Concern,
The Belgian incursion into France has been an unprovoked hostile act with no justification. I have been asked by the Prime Minister and His Majesty's Government to convey the solidarity of the Kingdom of Norway with France. Our sources have told us that there has been a brief cessation to hostilities. The government can only assume that this means France and Belgium, and perhaps our friends in The Netherlands, are in some kind of peace negotiations. I must underscore that His Majesty's Government wants nothing more than a peaceful resolution to these hostilities.
However, if Belgium continues to advance, the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense have assured me that Norway will render diplomatic, political, and military aid to France in whatever capacity is necessary to defend her from further invasion. Furthermore, under such circumstances, we would urge the Nordic Council to take unitary action against Belgium as well. On behalf of the government, I wish France the best, and offer my assistance.
