Angolan National University for International Studies (A.N.U.I.S) is a public research campus university that will be constructed in east Luanda. The university’s purpose is to spearhead Angola’s long-term development in diplomacy and international affairs, as well as pioneering research into the fields of linguistics and languages, social sciences, humanities and law. The university will have a peak capacity of 30,000 students and 2,000 academic staff across 12 departments, offering foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Built across a 0.6km2 site, the large campus will provide a vast array of facilities and services housed in over 100 buildings. The campus includes 14 purpose-built teaching buildings, gym building including a 500m track, swimming building, university hospital, two supermarkets, library, museum, a commercial bank, 53 student and faculty accommodation buildings providing 17,013 spaces, various business premises and 4 parks.

The most unique and prestigious is its language program, teaching 77 languages both foreign and domestic. Taught by the School of Languages, Culture and Linguistics, to further language education globally, specifically in African languages, language education courses are available as non-degree and degree courses with relatively low acceptance criteria for both domestic and international students. Courses range in their proficiency level, from absolute beginner to near fluency.
As part of the education curriculum of the university, all admitted students are expected to enrol and pass at least one language course. Up to 7,500 student places can be allocated to non-Angolan citizens, as either exchange student programs or full enrolment on degree courses. Exchange students and fully enrolled students who do not speak fluent Portuguese are required to enrol on a Portuguese language course and a second language course.
The language program is internationally unique as it is the only higher-education institution globally to offer taught language courses in several languages. Ordered by continent of origin, the list of languages the university teaches is:
