PROJECT INFORMATION	As per the agreen terms between Eritrea and Ethiopia, the FDR of Ethiopia would start the project on the expansion and mdoernization of the main railway of Eritrea, linking several cities with the Port of Massawa, which also would be expanded to accomodate double the operational capacity of the former eritrean port city of Assab. The railroad will be brought up to standard gauge and will directly connect the modernized port in Massawa with the Eritrean city of Asmara. The railroad will be brought up to standard gauge so that cargo unloaded at the port can be directly put on trains and brought to the capitol of Asmara. The invested funds will cover the acquisition of rolling stock and locomotives to operate the railroad.
