PROJECT INFORMATION | After threats of war, and with a lack of adequate housing, the Congolese government will begin construction on 3 new airfields. Delta field- Built in Swa-Bangu, Delta Field will be the next largest combat-orientated airfield. It will have a capacity of 150 airplanes in armored hangars, and up to 60 helicopters in unarmored hangars. There will be a 6,000, 8,000, and 10,000-foot airstrip. To serve as a fallback if Charlie field is under immediate threat. Also serves for ground attack purposes. Echo Field- Built in Nkoba, Echo field will be a mid-sized airfield for national defense. It will primarily serve as an air defense station, as well as the Congos eyes on the southeast. Capacity of 80 airplanes. 6,000 foot, 2 8,000 foot runways. Foxtrot Field- Built in Elipa, Foxtrot field serves as the primary station for mass storage and transit of aircraft. It is the largest airfield made for the Congo to date, however is not intended as a combat station. It is of utmost importance that the airfield is not targeted as it stores most of the nations valuable aircraft. Capacity of 400 airplanes in open-air hangars, 100 more in armored hangars, 6 6,000, 2 8,000, and 2 10,000 foot airstrips. |
