PROJECT INFORMATION | Located within Jurong West, the Royal Institute was designed as an expansion onto the already existing SAFTI Military Institute campus. The campus itself would be expanded from 88 to 140 hectares of land, with the Royal Institute being placed adjacent to the main SAFTI building. The extra space alotted for the expansion would be put to use in providing the myriad of facilities necessary for small-scale tests to take place on campus, rather than elsewhere at a base. This would be effectively turn the Institute into its own mini-campus within the larger SAFTI campus, and would be provided the necessary security to deter any intruders. The Royal Institute's primary focus is in military technology, although it does maintain a handful of departments who focus on civilian-applicable technology and infrastructure. It falls underneath the Department of Technology & Education, with Jacqueline Wei serving as the head of Research. |
