PROJECT COST | 25,000,000,000.00 |
COMPLETION DATE | 04/01/2024 |
PROJECT INFORMATION | With the commitment of providing high-speed rail across Spain, the Spanish Government has chosen to invest $25 billion dollars into the Alta Velocidad Española (AVE) which will be a high-speed rail network in Spain operated by Renfe, the Spanish national railway company at a maximum speed of up to 320 km/h. Renfe will become the dominant high-speed rail operator in Spain but private companies will have the opportunity to tender bids to the government to operate on any of the high-speed lines. The investment will see 3,100 km of high-speed track created for the Spanish high-speed AVE network which will become one of the longest high-speed networks in Europe. Running at speeds of up to 320 km/h, this extensive network will allow for fast connections between cities in Spain assuring all passengers safe connections, high-class comfort, and exceptional punctuality, AVE trains operated by Renfe will become one of the most convenient ways to explore the wonders of Spain. The investment will also see existing station infrastructure at stations across the route map maintained and adjusted to deal with the high stakes investment. The funding allocated will also allow for new, high quality and modern stations to be built on certain routes if station adjustments cannot be made to accommodate the new service. The stations across the network will be modern and contemporary designed to match up with modern services. All stations across the network will have ticket barrier access with ticket offices at each station to allow customers to buy tickets on the day if they have not bought one through the website. The Spanish high-speed network will mainly be used, among others, by the following services: - Barcelona to Granada via Tarragona, Lleida, Zaragoza, Córdoba, Puente Genil-Herrera and Antequera. - Barcelona to Seville via Tarragona, Lleida, Zaragoza, Ciudad Real, Puertollano, and Córdoba. - Madrid to Alicante via Cuenca, Albacete, and Villena. - Madrid to Barcelona via Zaragoza, Lleida, and Tarragona. - Madrid to Burgos via Valladolid. - Madrid to Castellón via Cuenca and Valencia. - Madrid to Granada via Ciudad Real, Puertollano, Córdoba, Puente Genil-Herrera, Antequera and Loja. - Madrid to Huesca via Guadalajara, Calatayud, Zaragoza, and Tardienta. - Madrid to León via Valladolid and Palencia. - Madrid to Málaga via Córdoba, Puente Genil-Herrera, and Antequera. - Madrid to Murcia via Cuenca, Albacete, Elche and Orihuela. - Madrid to Ourense via Zamora. - Madrid to Seville via Ciudad Real, Puertollano, and Córdoba. - Madrid to Valencia via Cuenca and Requena-Utiel. - Málaga to Barcelona via Antequera, Puente Genil-Herrera, Córdoba, Zaragoza, and Tarragona. - Valencia to Seville via Cuenca, Ciudad Real, Puertollano, and Córdoba. - Valencia to Burgos via Madrid Chamartín. - Alicante to Ourense via Albacete, Cuenca, Madrid Chamartín and Zamora. - A Coruña to Santiago de Compostela–Ourense. - Barcelona to Figueres via Girona. - Barcelona to Lleida via Lleida. - Barcelona to Tortosa via Camp de Tarragona, Cambrils and L'Hospitalet de l'Infant. - Calatayud to Zaragoza. - Madrid to Puertollano via Ciudad Real - Madrid to Valladolid via Segovia - Madrid to Toledo. - Málaga to Seville via Seville, Antequera and Puente Genil-Herrera. - Málaga to Granada via Loja. - Murcia to Alicante via Beniel, Orihuela, Callosa Cox and Elx. - Ourense to A Coruña via Santiago de Compostela - Valencia to Requena Utiel - Alicante–Santander, via Villena, Albacete, Cuenca, Madrid, Segovia, Valladolid, Palencia and Torrelavega. - Barcelona to A Coruña, via Lleida, Zaragoza, Pamplona, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Burgos, León, Ponferrada, Ourense and Santiago de Compostela. - Barcelona to Bilbao, via Camp Tarragona, Lleida, Zaragoza, Tudela, Castejon, Calahorra, Logroño, Haro and Miranda De Ebro. - Barcelona to San Sebastian, via Camp Tarragona, Lleida, Zaragoza, Tudela, Castejon, Tafalla, Pamplona, Altsasu and Zumarraga. - Barcelona to Salamanca, via Camp Tarragona, Lleida, Zaragoza, Tudela, Castejon, Tafalla, Pamplona, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Miranda de Ebro, Burgos, Valladolid and Medina del Campo. - Barcelona to Vigo, via Lleida, Zaragoza, Pamplona, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Burgos, León, Ponferrada and Ourense, with connection services to Gijón in León and to A Coruña in Monforte de Lemos. - Gijón to Oropesa Del Mar, via Oviedo, Mieres Del Camín, La Pola, León, Palencia, Valladolid, Segovia, Madrid, Cuenca, Requena Utiel, Valencia, Sagunt, Castellón and Benicàssim. - Gijón to Alicante, via Oviedo, Mieres Del Camín, La Pola, León, Palencia, Valladolid, Segovia, Madrid, Cuenca, Albacete and Villena. - Madrid to A Coruña, via Zamora, Ourense and Santiago de Compostela. - Madrid to Badajoz, via Leganés, Torrijos, Talavera De La Reina, Oropesa, Navalmoral De La Mata, Monfragüe-plasencia, Cáceres and Mérida. - Madrid to Bilbao, via Segovia, Valladolid, Burgos and Miranda de Ebro. - Madrid to Cádiz, via Ciudad Real, Puertollano, Córdoba, Sevilla and Jerez de la Frontera. - Madrid to Ferrol, via Segovia, Medina del Campo, Zamora, Sanabria, A Gudiña, Ourense, Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Betanzos and Pontedeume. - Madrid to Gijón, via Valladolid, Palencia, León and Oviedo. - Madrid to Huelva, via Cordoba and La Palma Del Condado. - Madrid to Irun, via Segovia, Valladolid, Burgos, Miranda de Ebro, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Zumarraga, Tolosa and San Sebastián. - Madrid to Logroño, via Guadalajara, Calatayud, Tudela and Calahorra - Madrid to Lugo, via Segovia, Medina del Campo, Zamora, Sanabria, A Gudiña, Ourense, Monforte De Lemos and Sarria. - Madrid to Cartagena, via Albacete, Hellin, Cieza, Murcia, Balsicas-mar Menor and Torre-pacheco. - Madrid to Pamplona, via Guadalajara, Calatayud, Tudela and Tafalla. - Madrid to Pontevedra, via Zamora, Sanabria, A Gudiña, Ourense, Santiago de Compostela and Vilagarcia De Arousa. - Madrid to Salamanca, via Segovia and Medina del Campo. - Madrid to Santander, via Valladolid, Palencia, Aguilar De Campoo, Reinosa and Torrelavega. - Madrid to Santiago de Compostela, via Zamora, Sanabria, A Gudiña and Ourense. - Madrid to Vigo, via Segovia, Medina del Campo, Zamora, Sanabria, A Gudiña, Ourense and Pontevedra. |
