PROJECT INFORMATION | Despite being the commercial heart of Tanzania, shopping and entertainment facilities are relatively, limited, low-quality, and are local traders. Although local traders are not necessarily a negative quality, the lack of major international brands means that consumers lack quality and choice, with the microeconomic factor being very inefficient. The Uhuru Commercial and Entertainment Centre will introduce modern shopping and entertainment to the city and will be the first to do so. Being constructed on one of Dar Es Salaam’s many inner-city brown field sites, it will provide a source of significant economic growth as well as being a fine addition to the city’s skyline. - 2.16 km2 area - 8 shopping malls - Includes 10 high rise buildings ranging from 21 stories to 37 stories tall. The tallest at 37 levels, 250m, will be the 3rd tallest in Tanzania and 15th tallest in Africa. - Facilities include 312 stores and dining outlets, a multi-screen cinema, an art gallery, 14 bars, 2 nightclubs and a hotel with 305 rooms and 48 apartments.
