Diplomatic Notice
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has now begun to put these changes into effect. The following are some changes that may require your immediate attention:
- The Republic of South Africa is no longer recognized by Yugoslavia.
- All diplomatic relations and offices have been ceased and closed. Trade and Travel embargoes have also been put into effect. South Africans in Yugoslavia (if any) have 1 week to leave the country.
- Diplomatic relations with Australia, New Zealand, Madagascar, Zimbabwe and Tanzania have been closed temporarily.
- Cease of diplomatic relations in this case is not a hostile act, it is due to staffing reasons.
- These relations may be reexplored/reopened in the future
- No embargoes set in place
- All remaining diplomatic relations continue to exist.
- However, Yugoslav Diplomatic staff, Security staff and Mission staff has been limited to 10/5/10 abroad.
- Consulates, if any, have been closed and only the embassies will remain open
- Any excess staff have been instructed to return to Yugoslavia
- Security staff are made up of the Partisan Detachment of the JNA
- Diplomatic missions and offices of foreign nations in Yugoslavia have been limited to a combined 20 staff members comprising of diplomatic staff, mission staff or other. Security personnel are limited to 5
- Only embassies in Belgrade will be permitted, consulates (if any) in other cities will be closed.
- Citizens of all nations require a visa to enter Yugoslavia.
- Until further notice, all visa processing is closed
- Visa guidelines will be updated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a later date
- Visa restrictions can be lowered through strengthening of diplomatic relations
