Dear Minister Fischer,
I hope this message finds you well. As the Foreign Minister of Thailand, I am writing to express our commitment to strengthening relations between our two nations and exploring opportunities for mutual benefit and collaboration.
Thailand, as a leader in Southeast Asia, has invested heavily in numerous national projects, totaling approximately $36 billion, aimed at enhancing our infrastructure, public health, education, transportation, and technology sectors. We are proud of our achievements in these areas and believe they showcase our dedication to sustainable development and economic growth.
In recent years, we have embarked on ambitious projects such as the Mass Rapid Transit Master Plan in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region and the Double-Track Railway Initiative Project, which further demonstrate our commitment to enhancing our nation's transportation infrastructure. These projects not only improve connectivity within our country but also contribute to regional connectivity, benefiting our neighbors and fostering cooperation throughout Southeast Asia.
We believe that there are several opportunities for Thai-German collaboration in various sectors. For instance, given our mutual interests in sustainable energy, we could explore joint research, development, and technology-sharing initiatives in the field of renewable energy. Moreover, with Thailand's growing investment in transportation infrastructure, we believe German engineering expertise and advanced technology could play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and safety of our railway networks.
Additionally, Thailand is determined to improve our public health and education systems. We are open to collaboration with German institutions in the areas of medical research, healthcare delivery, and capacity building for our educational institutions. These joint efforts will undoubtedly benefit both our countries and contribute to the betterment of our societies.
Finally, in light of our shared values and commitment to global peace and security, we are keen on exploring opportunities for cooperation in areas such as law enforcement, counter-terrorism, and intelligence sharing. Together, we can work towards ensuring a safer and more secure world.
In conclusion, Thailand stands ready to work closely with Germany to strengthen our bilateral relations and explore opportunities for collaboration in various sectors. We believe that through our joint efforts, we can contribute to a more prosperous, peaceful, and sustainable future for our nations and the broader international community.
I look forward to further discussions on how we can enhance Thai-German cooperation and collaboration in the coming months.
Sincerely
Surakiart Sathirathai
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Republic of Thailand
