MOFA With the announcement of the largest French Airport Charles De Gaulle closing in April along with the current protests, riots & blackouts, the Department for European Affairs has deemed it necessary that the travel advisory for the French Republic is to change from Exercise normal safety precautions to Do not travel effective immediately. Advice for New Caledonia will be upgraded to "Exercise a high degree of caution" and French Polynesia as well as Wallis and Futuna will remain "Exercise normal safety precautions". Australian citizens are advised to travel by land, either vehicle or train to the United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, The Netherlands or Germany in order to take flights out of the country.
