The Government of The Republic of Ireland has decided to extend diplomatic recognition to an independent state within the boundaries of Catalonia and shall therefore permit said independent state to send unto Ireland an ambassador to the location of the former Spanish embassy in Dublin.

Recipient: Gerald Monahan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ireland I thank you for your message but unfortunately, the central government in Madrid has activated Article 155 of the Spanish Constitution which says that if a regional government "doesn't comply with the obligations of the Constitution or other laws it imposes, or acts in a way that seriously undermines the interests of Spain", the national government can ask the Senate to vote on the use of the measure which they have done and have fired the entire government in Catalonia and have placed an acting President in charge whilst they have taken over Catalonia’s civil service, police, finances, foreign affairs and public media. I am outraged but this isn't the end. Your Excellency, what has happened in Spain is regarded by most Irishmen and women as being nothing short of a travesty belonging to another era and not in the modernity of this 21st century. As foreign minister of Ireland, I would be more than happy to contact the minister of Immigration and Customs in order to grant you and your government political asylum on Irish Soil. Should Catalonia, one day break off the chains that bid her to Spain you can count on Ireland's support and recognition.
