Greetings, Your Excellency, My name is Gerald Monahan of The Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dublin. I'm Patrick Duffy's replacement in the wake of the crisis with Chile regarding the closure of embassies in Santiago.

As Èire's new foreign minister, I would like to discuss the possibility of restoring Irish sovereignty over Northern Ireland. Me and my colleagues are aware of the sensitive nature this matter entails for our two nature's and would therefore like to resolve this in a manner most civilised that will benefit all parties on the ground.

Sincerely,
Gerald Monahan

Dear Gerald Monahan, Foreign Minister of Èire,

Thank you for contacting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As per our previous discussions, the relationship between the UK and Ireland is something we value strongly; given we share borders, interests and geographical location, the benefits of friendship for both is mutually received. Whilst we appreciate your interest to ensure the subject of Northern Ireland to be sensitive and handled maturely, I regret to inform you that regardless of discussions, the soverignty of Northern Ireland is and will always be recognised to be that of the United Kingdom. This is something, given world events, that we do not consider as requiring further discussion as it would potentially escalate into a game of tennis; essentially one party saying yes, the other no, and no progress made. I'm sorry if this comes as an inconvenience for the long term goal of your government but I hope you understand.

We continue to aim for cooperation and mutual understanding moving forward.

Kind Regards,
CNorris

Your Excellency, You are most welcome with regards to our recently established communications. On the subject of Northern Ireland's future, Èire shall respect the continued existence of British sovereignty and shall see to it that nothing is done to provoke a militant response or endanger our friendship with The United Kingdom. On another note, my government would like to inquire into the current administration's views on Irish neutrality and whether or not The United Kingdom can be counted upon to guarantee said neutrality.

Sincerely,
Gerald Monahan

You are most welcome, your excellency. It is the policy of The Irish Government to avoid taking part in any foreign dispute that may result in a severe loss of life or the loss of Irish Sovereignty. Therefore we choose to remain neutral with regards to diplomacy and arms.

Sincerely,
Gerald Monahan
