The Serbian People are excited the first election of the serbian republic leads people to reflect, schools teach serbian history on this day. Adults get days off of work to vote and people reflect on their shared history.
The day of serbian independence was 1878 in the russo-turkish war fighting with the russians we defeated our enemies and we were free protected from the ottoman empire by the russians we go through a period of peace for a while yet in the 1903 coup a hardline anti-austrian leader Dragutin Dimitrijević Apis led our people to war with the ottoman empire in 1912 with our brother Bulgaria, Brother Montenegro, and Sister Greece we together defeated the ottoman empire. Yet a year later our brother Bulgaria defeated us in the 2nd balkan war leaving us without our rightful claims in macedonia. By 1914 and the assassination of franz ferdinand led to ww1 and the occupation of serbia in 1915 by austrian forces and the lifting of the occupation by british and greek forces in 1918 with a couple of weeks later the end of ww1 the yugoslav state was formed yugoslavia enters into a era of prosperity until its occupation in ww2 and its liberation by yugoslav communist partisans. Leading to the king Peter the First going into exile in britain yugoslavia was neutral in the cold war being a founding member of the Non-Aligned Movement until the yugoslav wars begin in the 1986. With all the yugoslav socialist republics gaining independence in 1992 with the end of the yugoslav wars leading serbia into a military dictatorship until 1998. The first election lead to the victory with milan multivic having succeeded.
now is the second election with the 3 main political parties SSZ, DCOFSS, and SPO all have very differing ideals and all 3 have a chance of winning the votes are counted the people have voted and now is time for the reveal the future of serbia
