2005 New Zealand Election

In light of the recent overturning of the Strategic Partnership Treaty between Thailand and New Zealand, the current government - Labour - would ask the Governor-General to dissolve Parliament. She would do so, and would set the election date set for the 5th of March.

By the 9th, all votes had been counted; it was obvious who the winner was. The Governor-General then appointed Don Brash as Prime Minister on the 10th, and he appointed all Ministers by the 14th. On the 21st of March, 2005, the new Government is officially sworn in.
