Anti-Zionist Club
Anti-Zionist Club (AZC) is a non-antisemitic ant-Zionist civil society mass organization with more than 3.9 million members across Thailand. Rooted in the scientific analysis of Marxism, especially dialectical and historical materialism, the communist front holds profound enmity toward the existence of the capitalist Jewish state. The Israeli State’s origin resulted from the dispossession and displacement of the existing Palestinian population informed AZC’s understanding of the nation-state’s settler-colonialist material basis. The mass organization deems that the State of Israel, since its establishment under the British Mandate, functions as a bourgeois state serving the imperialist interests of the West.
The AZC holds neither prejudice nor hatred toward Jewish people. However, its critiques focus on the political project, the state structure, and actions based on the class interests of both Jewish and Palestinian people and their material reality. The communist front operates social media campaigns on globally popular social media platforms. They concentrate on raising awareness of the liberal propaganda filtered by the capitalist ruling class to divert class consciousness toward infighting among the proletariat. Regarding Palestinians’ struggle for self-determination, AZC stands in solidarity with the Palestinian working class and aims to transcend Palestinian nationalism as a bourgeois ideology. According to its members, they ignore distractions such as ethnicity and religious hatred, instead focusing on class struggle and the liberation of all people, Jewish or Palestinian, from capitalist oppression.
Within Thailand’s diplomatic apparatus, AZC popularly urges subsequent confederal governments to support a one-state solution. According to the communist front, such a nation-state is democratic, worker-led, and secular. They believe that it is reactionary to view self-determination through a nationalistic lens. Therefore, the Palestinian and Jewish people must transcend such a bourgeois ideology and unite by their class interest to create a multi-party socialist state. Moreover, as part of such a proposal to establish a one-state solution, the new secular country must join the global fight against capitalism and imperialism in recognition of proletarian internationalism.
