[Argentina] Call to South Africa

The argentine Minister of Foreign Affairs, Daniel Osvaldo, would privately call his southafrican counterpart.

"Minister Sisulu, thank you very much for taking my call. On behalf of the Argentine Republic I would like to formally congratulate your President for his election and you and the rest of the cabinet for your appointment in office.

Argentina and South Africa have long mantained a cordial diplomatic relation, and considering the realtive geogrpahic proximity between our two nations, we see a potential strategic ally in terms of commercial exchange and eventual political cooperation.

On this regard, we would like to know a little bit more about your foreign policy. Argentina looks for a multipolar world, with engough equally strong players in order to mantain a global balance of power. At the same time, we push forwar a strong South-South agenda, were we look to strenghten our ties with fellow "southern" nations, under which we can easily categorize South Africa."

"Thank you, Minister Osvaldo. The Economic Freedom Fighters ran on a pan-African unity and anti-imperialist platform and I am proud to say we will be fulfilling that mandate. South Africa is very much interested in reaching out to our neighbors in the global South, including Argentina and we would be pleased to engage in talks with your government regarding this matter."

"Good to know that we share the opinion of a descentralized world as the best option for peaceful coexistance and economic prosperity.

To begin with, our Government, as part of the mentioned foreign policy, is always eager to assist new Governments in establishing themselves and do the first steps towards progress. Do you have any specific affair in which Argentina could help South Africa in the short term?

For example, we would like to acquire the domestic production rights of your Valour-Class Frigate. We could offer $500,000,000.00 USD, plus a 10% of the frigates production cost each time we produce one."

"That is an intriguing proposal, in-fact we are currently looking to modernize our Air Force. As I understand it, Argentina has developed two aircraft to fit our needs perfectly: the Zonda and Halcón models. If it pleases you, we'd be willing to trade the rights to the Valour-Class Frigate plus 10% per production in exchange for productions rights to both aircraft plus 10% per production."

"That can be done. Would you agree on leaving the 10%'s out and just exchange the DPRs? The only point we would like to include is a restriction for South Africa not selling Zonda or Halcón aircraft to third nations without notification to Argentina or ArgenDef.

"Of course. We must advise though that a initial intention was to produce the Valour-class to cede them to allies of Argentina. We would not be charging any type of fees and therefore making no monetary gains out of this. Would that be agreeable for you? We can notify you of who we are donating them to."

"Yes, of course. You or the entity you appoint will receive a notification with the number of units and the recipient Government. Do we have a deal then?

Noting that you will be producing the Zonda and the Halcón, do you require any supporting equipment for it them? As a token of goodwill we would be giving you the manuals and technical data for your Air Force to perform major maintenance tasks locally."

"We have a deal then. We would greatly appreciate that equipment and, if you are willing, we would like to have Argentine trainers instruct our new class of pilots once our initial productions are complete."

"Excellent!

Argentina is very proud of having one of the best air forces in terms of equipment and personnel, with our pilots having continuous and intensive training procedures. We would be delighted of sharing our experience with the renewed South African Air Force.

In other issues, we would like to explore the possibility of increasing the commercial exchange between our two nations. Is that something your Government would be interested in?"

"Yes, let's. What sort of agreements do you have in mind?"

"Argentina is looking to promote our lithium, grain, meat, fossil fuels and vehicle exports. These 5 products are our main source of exports. At the same time, we would also open our market to south african goods."

"South Africa is always looking for partners to import automobiles and petrol products. Our big export areas are iron, precious metals, and synthetic chemicals."

 

[Naio90]

"If you agree, Argentina would export Fossil Fuels and vehicles to South Africa. At the same time, we would be inporting in importing iron and synthetic chemicals to feed our industry. ALl trade would be conducted through the port of Buenos Aires on our side."

"Excellent, trade can be facilitated through the port of Cape Town on our end."

"These are great news! I'm glad this communication is turning so positive for both sides. We will submit the corresponding paperworks immediatly to set up the new trade routes between Buenos Aires and Cape Town.

Is there anything else my nation can do for your at the moment? When you are ready we would very much like to carry out the joint exercises you mentioned earlier."
