The Foreign Minister would depart Canberra on a RAAF Boeing 737BBJ which would be bound for Paris-Charles de Gaulle with fuel stops in Singapore and Tel Aviv. Onboard would be the Minister's entourage of advisors and personal assistants. The French would be informed of the impending arrival.

The Foreign Minister would be greeted at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport by a mixture of diplomats and security figures. Escorted by a fleet of motorcycles, the large 4x4 vehicles would take the Australian team to their accommodation to settle in before then taking the Foreign Minister and their team to the Palace of Versailles to meet Pascal Dupont of French Foreign Affairs.

The chosen meeting place would be a one of the palaces smaller rooms which still displayed its glorious 1700's features. There would be a large meeting table in the centre of the room which hosted a selection of bottled water, small snacks and a few extravagant pieces of artwork to add a spot of colour.

Upon arrival, Pascal and his team would stand up and offer their hands as a friendly gesture. "Welcome to Paris, it is excellent to meet you! I trust your journey here was without complications?" He remarked with a warm smile.

"Yes, all was well, the Air Force keep us well catered and looked after. Paris is a wonderful place and I've always wanted to visit. A wonderful country you have."

With a polite hand gesture, Pascal signalled everyone to take a seat at the table and make themselves comfortable. "Now then, where would you like to begin with our discussions? France has always held Australia with extremely high regards and hopes that today will be a fruitful meeting."
