During this time of turmoil in the Middle East its more important now than ever that Australia connects with our partners in the Middle East including yourself. I am extending my hand out for a state visit, the first of its kind by a Saudi King to Australia. We will make sure all the preparations are made and that it runs as smoothly as possible. The King shares both your concern of the Middle East and the importance of furthering diplomatic relations between the Kingdom and Australia. Unfortunately, he regrets to inform you that a state visit at this time would not be possible. With the regional conflict going on and internal development, it would not be possible for the King to visit. However, he stresses that in the near future it will happen. The King would like to suggest that you open a channel with the Crown Prince of the Kingdom, Muhammad Al-Qahtani. The Crown Prince would be more than happy to speak with you. I have informed his office of the possibility of a video conference with yourself.
