"Dear Mr. Bernhard Reinders,

The Australian Government wishes to extend its hand out to The Netherlands in this trying time. We are monitoring the situation in the South Pacific closely and Argentina's movements are of a grave national security concern. I want to re-assure The Netherlands that the Australian Defence Force is ready to deploy within 24 hours with a range of Sea, Air and Ground capabilities to defend temporarily administered Dutch territories of New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna and Polynesia. Argentina invading or annexing any of these territories is something our Government will not accept and we will engage in direct conflict with Argentina if they attempted this. Just give me the word and we will be there, day or night, sea, air or land. Australia stands firmly with The Netherlands.
