SECURITY CLASSIFICATION: OFFICIAL |

Dear United States Secretary of State and the United Kingdom Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, This is a formal message to inform you that the new French Government has been admitted into the South Pacific Forum, with the governments of its territories of New Caledonia, French Polynesia and Wallis and Futuna being admitted as full members and with the French Government as observers. They have signed both the agreements establishing the Secretariat and the South Pacific Commission. Expect correspondences from me in the near future about how we can further develop the Forum and the cooperation amongst our South Pacific partners. Yours sincerely, Kevin Rudd. |
