Dear Mr. Ambassador, I would like to invite you to discussions at Parliament House on how we can reaffirm our long standing and historical alliance. Australia has no closer friend than the United States and we intend to continue that friendship. There are many things to discuss, and hopefully it can accumulate towards a state visit by either myself to the United States or the President visiting here. Either way, we need to start somewhere in order to build a firm bilateral relationship. We are extremely concerned about Sweden and the Israel situation. We believe we share similar stances with the United States on both issues, hence why I think this meeting is of the utmost importance. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours sincerely, P.J. Keating. |
