Minister Combet,

The Department of Defense normally does not directly handle foreign defense procurements from the United States. The State Department tasked me with reaching out to you and informing you that the White House has approved the sale of a Domestic Production License for x8 Boeing C-17 Globemaster III and x8 Lockheed Martin C-130J-30 Super Hercules to Australia for the one-time reduced price of $50-million. The only condition of this sale is that these products can not be sold, transferred, donated, leased, or otherwise given to any other country, government, organization, or individual without the permission of the United States government.

If this is an acceptable term to your government, you may proceed with the transfer and produce the products. The LPL will expire by the end of this month.​
